Sorry, calls from my parents are like dental drills. To paraphrase "LEt me tell you how everyone's life is going to hell and always getting worse even though you are utterly powerless" and no one listens to me anyway

I get a call at least monthly from my mom practically in tears because my sister is horrible and won't speak to her over some imagined slight from years ago, and I get to try to talk down "I don't even know if (sister) is alive, she won't even talk to me, why doesn't she love her own mother..."
