Hey. Sorry about the abrupt departure last night.

Not really...ocular migraines don't hurt exactly. But the last couple of times I've had them, I've also had sort of a weird bit of aphasia afterwards. Words that I should know just don't happen...like, I can't pull them out of the brain. Add to that multitasking and the added level of communication through typing and...I just couldn't. I was like trying to swim through sludge.

Well, Sylvi seemed very surprised that Bird made grilled cheese

Gah, sorry, distractions here. Anyway...yes, that surprised Sylvi. She knows that Sparrow's one of the nicer nobles, but her mindset right now is generally anti-noble, which narrows one's expectations.

And Bird -is- fairly traditionalist. A little bit of a reformer - she is okay with commoner nobles. But democracy?

And the notion of sidhe nobles doing anything for themselves is counter to Sylvi's assumptions. She sort of sees them as living at Versailles and being fawned over, occasionally slumming at Firnost for laughs.

I only half-follow what you mean there.

Bird is very money-conscious as part of being very debt-conscious. She IS very seelie, anyhow - never forget a debt, and she wants to repay everyone that has helped her.

I think she over-perceives her indebtitude - what seems huge to her is often well within the means of the giver

So thinking $70 is... Oh! The price of the easel and brushes. Got it.

So she needs to cover that.

She wants to pull her own weight, and repay, and not be a mooch. It is very hard for her to take charity.

Like - August's graduation, she managed to scare up 20 bucks and a card. Did August need the money? No. But... pride.

Sure. It makes sense, especially for the age. But she's got people who truly value what she does.

And yes - also, 19. Trying to be so grown up and responsible and have everything together.

I doubt Cora would do very well if she were kicked out and cut off, but Bird doesn't see that.
