So, for practicality's sake...Rivervale may be a mighty lodge, but with the recent influx of bodies I have to decide where they would have slept six questers for the night. I think it was decided to put them all in the main hall on cots which, chimerically at least, are very comfortable.

Oh! Thoughts on Mistress Unicorn? I kind of got a kick out of the reactions when she talked 'Of course the Unicorn talks' etc.

Well, unicorns for at least one of them.

Oh, she was lovely. It's funny...in retrospect, Coradel should have been all "Oh, I ride horses, lemme at it!"....but the Unicorn was utterly NOT a horse, and just didn't ping that instinct in her.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, horses are majestic creatures, but I do prefer when they (Unicorns) are portrayed as more deerlike in their grace physically, and they do not have horse tails.

Poor Zara and her Molly Grue moment. Mistress U had to talk to her about that so she did not misunderstand. I think Mistress Unicorn is a rather sensitive soul herself.

I do intend Magnus to be a good guy. But mostly he goes off on investigations as suits him, and Claire waits or finds things to do then. She gets into stuff and he'll help if she asks, but while he doesn't pull the patronizing 'let me handle this' he often forgets to drop some things and offer to come along IF she'd like. He had to have his head drubbed a few times to realize how treating her like a secret hurt her, and her honor, and while he made up for that, he still comes dangerously close to taking her for granted. On the other hand he commits random acts of romance with all his heart, and when she does ask rushes to her.
