5Sep - 22 Dec is the semester, but he plans to be back and forth between NY & MO a lot. Every weekend if possible.

So, how about weekend roomies until Yule, and he'll move out at that time, which will give his parents time to absorb it as well.

He's still paying half the rent.

Give him time to get a job, too.
