I don't think anyone would have recognized Luke as mine until I cross-posted by accident. Everyone has a style they're known for, it becomes like....actors who try to break from their usual roles to a new genre, people can't stop seeing the comedy or tragedy of their usual roles?

And second, there is a definite trope of....I don't want people to necessarily know my gender. The best compliment to my playing I ever got was Henrick-p's jaw dropping when we first met, and I was introduced as 'Jeremy's player'. G

But if I want to play a 'sensitive' or 'nice guy', if people don't know I'm female, it doesn't become a trope, and if they aren't sure, I feel I've succeeded in doing it without going over to 'chick playing'.

But. All my characters are tied up, and I realized something yesterday.

Because....this is exactly what I told Fang yesterday. if we're being honest, Jer really did die back in the Varich Freehold. His body just hasn't gotten the memo yet. I tried playing him the other night, and there's no life left in him, when I try to get into his mind. It's not that I can't....it's just it consists of 98% depression and misery, and the other 2% is Jeff's occasional visits, which keep him going.

I don't think he can even summon interest in what is going on around him; I haven't felt it from him, if that makes sense. Even before, when he was in the rafters hiding and listening, I could imagine some interest in the people below. Does this make any sense?

I don't think I painted him there, I think it's just realism. If you read up on torture survivors, realize how screwed up in the head they become, and add to that Eidetic Memory...people just can't do it by themselves.
