Honestly, 1st Edition had the best, unvarnished view of ALL the kiths, IMO. Later editions tried to make it more modern, less -- inhuman? More un-sexist, un-PC, etc?

Like, it really showed sidhe as ethereal inhuman beings, and satyr as loose and unrestrained, with no sense of jealousy, or understanding of commitment.

Which made them a lot harder to play, admittedly.

Since players probably can't keep that viewpoint in mind constantly themselves.

e.g., "Okay, to play a satyr, I have to break this other character's heart, and then not get why they're upset."

But that paragraph does a good job of how some redcaps might feel about Satyrs... they watered down and sold out

Okay, you know what just occurred to me, reading that over...maybe 1st Edition had the kiths entirely as what they really are. Without human influence? Like, how they are when their Banality is low, or they are in Freeholds, but not how they are in school, or at work, doing 'mortal' things?

I think that's what a lot of people forget. Passion doesn't necessarily mean sex.

But it often involves it. It is low on the pyramid, unlike 'higher' mental likes and dislikes.

Music, sex, drugs, like Cat said.

Less so, things like...painting, or writing, or things requiring the cerebrum.

But, that's something I need to remember, The mood swings.

They can bring their passion TO higher art forms, but these are not basic drives themselves.
