It was in the news this morning. At the time I was leaving, one likely fatality.

I know it's a mean thought, but tenants that got outside bitched that fire extinguishers didn't work, and they knew there were issues...and my first thought was, "And you didn't DO something about it?"

I mean, at that point, don't you get your neighbors together and hound the owner?

To be fair, though, my second thought was, "Maybe they did."

Oakland is a wonderful place to be a slumlord. Seller's market for tenants.

I can offer Oregon visits. But all I can offer right now? Is a short couch...though in the near future, we will have futon fixings.

Also, mine is done up kind of old-lady style, cheap pseudo-Victorian knockoffs.
