peeks in The FLB has been coming out earlier and earlier. Fey and I were joking that, since Ezo was talking to Amanda and Madeline came in to flirt with her, that he should hold the line, battle against the forces of FLB-dom ignoring the 'After 9pm' rule. 🙂

But Ezo left, apparently.

I had to do homework. Last week of class before finals.

Nachos are a guilty pleasure for the DH and I. Corn chips, cheese, whatever toppings we have around, a cast iron skillet and the oven.....

*chuckle* So Thing2 (offspring) started school in our new location today; first day of school+fieldtrip all day! FUN!

However....

Taking the bus home he was talking with a friend, got distracted, and got off with his friend at the wrong stop.

Bear in mind we've lived here since Saturday. So. 72 hrs.

He's 8.... he does NOT know the area, does NOT know his address, does NOT know his phone number.

And he's off on the side of the road with relative strangers.

Blinks. How did he get home?

Did he talk to Friend's Parents?

That's what I'd hope!

Well. We've had the practice of, when we move, giving the kids a literal dog-tag with our (new) phone numbers on them and since he had the field trip, I put his on him this a.m. 'just in case.'

Hell I have lived here two years? Almost three? And I still only know how to go home, go to the store, go to work and class. 😛 and I am NOT eight. Heh.

So I have no excuse.

And, one of the parents at that bus stop was the Webelo leader for his older brother, in the pack that I got them going to over husband's minor protests because "Dear, we need roots in this community, might as well start now."

I am glad you had safety measures!

*chuckle* SO! Webelos leader took custody of the lost little lamb, and she had called the scouting leader to see if she could reach me; meanwhile, Thing2 pulls out his dog tag and proceeds exactly as he'd been instructed to.

And I was 5 minutes away, and OTW.

Good! I am glad he managed to find his way back to you.

*Nod* I reviewed with him what his stop looks like and NOT to get off with his friends.

Could always have them microchipped....

Honestly kind of wonder why people don't, if it can be removed. wry Size of a grain of rice, bio-neutral, and if you could get GPS on it, no one would ever worry about kidnappings.

But, your kid sounds smart, wouldn't need it much.
