I am having a Mexican mandarin flavored soda. With real sugar. It says so right on the front of the bottle. When "with real sugar" becomes a selling point...there's something wrong, I think.

It is! But I am so used to diet sodas I think my tongue isn't sure what to make of this.

I am happily in the other direction; I can -so- tell when something has artificial sweeteners now. Almost to a point where I can tell which one, and for a dead-palate like me, that's saying something.

I am wondering what clay pots have to do with mandarins. staring at the label And yeah? Isn't splenda supposed to be close to the real thing?

Sugar is the real thing. Period. Honey is better.
