So there was a good deal of -- bad healing.

A very skilled healer / torturer could control what was healed and what was not

Or, a sloppy healing with bad rolls / novice healer might also do a poor job

I like thinking more along the lines of what a bad heal might do OTHER than just "only fix 1 health level"

So yes, I did some reading on the bones and nerves of the hand, and the main one runs right up the center of your hand, then splits -- one branch controls thumb and first finger (maybe part of second), and the other the outer part of the hand. Watched surgery on Youtube.

If more than 1cm (?) or so of nerve was lost (burned and severed in this case), you need grafts. Bad reattachment can cause painful nodules to form, where the nerve just lumps at the end.

Because it's a lot of delicate surgery for hours and even physicians need a break? And they probably have rules/regulations (which could be snuck around I'm sure) saying that you can't do those sort of surgeries back-to-back

A lot has to do with the foot's construction; it is an AMAZING piece of engineering. Once I go the right fixed I felt, more than once, my posture and structure realigning due to the change in the way my foot addressed the ground during a step.

Fix the right, have the body adjust after I can put weight on it, and then do the other.

PLUS... during the healing time, I was only on bed rest 2 weeks.

The rest of the time after, I was slowly putting weight on it, first with an orthotic boot and then in a sneaker and then in shoes.

That helped the healing and readjustment process.

At the very least, I'd say logically he would get the hands and feet done separately - I'd think that they might (IRL) insist on doing one hand / foot at a time too, but if Jer is stubborn and persistent, they could easily enough fiddlefuck with the charts and such and get it done together

THEN... once the right foot was functioning again, we did the left. So it basically took two years.
