The self-hosted slack clone I'm testing will (Hopefully! If I can build it in!) have the ability to select a profile for each character to set the name and avatar, and maybe even an 'about' blurb, and also will set the name in the history so it' doesn't change back.

It's been a fun project to chew at. :)
