Symon glances down at the snake, curious. "What is it, bones?"

Only now does the veil lift... sluagh senses can do this where other kith might fail... and Symon sees one last trick of the Certain Dearth! Dagmar is about to step OFF the Silver... because here is a concealed 'donut hole' of not silver DISGUISED as Silver. What cruel bastard set this trap is not known, but the Rovers would have their ass if they came upon it. In short, it is a trap door of 'not protected' she's about to put her not so dainty foot in.

Symon stops short and hauls back on Dagmar's arm - meanwhile, the little heartbird swoops and flutters it's wings in her face! It might get batted, but hopefully she takes a step back...

"Sy?" She stops, foot HOVERING over the hole.

Da'an knows that if Dagmar WANTED to keep going a scrawny sluagh and heartbird wouldn't have the might to stop her.

No. But Symon had but to ask.

And there is where the power is, not of sinew, but love shared

"Beneath your left foot - a trap. There's a gap in the Silver, disguised."

He frowns and pushes mentally at the spot, with a thought of his medical exams, filing taxes for his part time jobs, the 1099 forms... an attempt to disperse the disguising glamour.

And the illusion is sucked away, perhaps now part of the Dearth's loss.

"A Dearth of Silver. Ha. Ha." He says, mirthlessly. "I know we're early in our Trial, and it might be wise to save it for later... but I think we have to use that message page from Vali. The paper airplane. Else what if the next traveler steps in a spot like this? It might even be a Rover." A pause, "Though it might insult Olgar if I suggested as much."

The hole seems obvious now, the illusion gone. But will it return?

A scowl at the hole.

"To Vali, for Olgar. Rovers will wanna know."

"Maybe we, um... work on a note? Bullet points, before we NEED to send it?"

He nods, and starts taking notes with a pen, very neat, tiny script on the inside edge of the airplane, including the tattletale they noticed.

"Qetz, sweep ahead of us, okay? Warn us of any more 'potholes'. " As he stoops to let the snake slither down onto the path, "About time that lazy bones earned his keep." Not fooling her even without Gwy-dar

Qetz sweeps ahead like the boney bad ass he is.

The move through the wastelands, where even the clouds are thin... but for a moment one cloud seems to have a satyress and a troll fighting some wicked black orb and... no, gone whatever that was. They keep pressing forward, and the Dearth area is...done. For things are getting LUSH again

"Oh, thank goodness. I was not liking that..."

Where there was sparse scrub grass and spindly near dead trees, now the ground grows greener, fuller, and the treees are more prevelent and yes, leafy

Symon looks over the grass, watching what is growing on the ground.

It actually looks like clover and grass but taller and more verdent and... oh

There are snakes... in the grass.

Qetz calls attention to his peers. Rising up and hissing. They rise up and hiss back. Are they not allowed to fill this one with venom? It seems not?

"Danger noodles."

One snake, who was reared up to his most dangerous looks wounded at such dismissal? The other snakes also look dejected, as if insulted. Danger NOODLES? Really?

Qetz wiggles in snake language, trying to explain it's meant as a term of respect and intimidtion
