"Sis sis," Tziporah nudges "Do the thing."

Ruzgarla looks amused at the sister interaction

She tuts at Tzip, before turning to the Owl.
"Sweet Suffolk owl, so trimly dight
With feathers, like a lady bright;
Thou sing'st alone, sitting by night,
"Te whit! Te whoo!"

And just like that, the owl can talk, if only to answer questions

Zara notices that while it was very hungry earlier, the patch from her beloved uncle seems to have given it some respite there, even as it changed its feathers coloration

"Hello, Friend Owl. You attacked us earlier. Why?"

"Hungry, the source, the dreamer and the dream, who I came with... walled off! I tried to keep up, tried to find... but below cannot find... so I attacked... to live"

The Thane's brows knit "The source? What source?"

"Shhh" Tzip says to him as Zara continues

"Are you meant to be their companion?"

At this the owl brightens "YES, they remembered the dream and I was returned to them! But.. gone, where i know not save that this city hides them from me. Am I not right to find food here in recompense?"

"I offer a deal. We shall mind you, feed you, as we search for your Dreamer. Until you can be reunited, you will not attack fae without provocation. We want to see you where you belong, safe and happy. Deal?"

It looks dubious, and takes a while to answer before finally saying "if you betray me, or break your bargain, I will feel no guilt in using one of you for num nums. Other than that, deal"

She may be running out of time for another question as that delay cost a bit. She is sure she has one more at least.

"Tell me about your Dreamer, that we may know them."

"Dreamer and dream now, remembering herself at last.... " Proud "A clurichaun is she, three tried to help her even as I formed, but they failed and I took flight after but... my auburn haired Roisin!"

And then...the cantrip fades.

Ruzgarla admits "I don't regret setting fire to it, but a companion seeking its mistress and friend being spared to aid us probably WILL make a better story."

Tziporah nods "it will once WE make a tale of it"

"And we have a name, a kith, and a solid physical connection." Zara smiles.

Thane Teegan frowns "If I find it has attacked any of his grace's subjects I will have to take it into custody, you understand? So far I only know it attacked you, and if none of you wish to complain about that, I won't do so, but if someone else is found wounded by giant owl..." he lets the rest hang in the air. He has his duty

"Their chrysalid, a clurichaun, was stolen. COnsider your takeaway from this conversation, good Thane,"

"mmm" he muses in trollish ("That is a fair point I must contemplate. I too would be outraged where a boon companion taken from me") then "The right of rescue is involved it seems"

"So... carriages, nu?" An arched eyebrow.

"Carriages" He admits "if this tied to that, then... I must take word to my superiors of the theory. Please, let us resume. The owl may follow if it causes no trouble"

OOC How big is this owl?

OOC: Well, it was the size of a mini van before but that may have been fluffed feathers in part.. but it it is at least the size of a jeep

"You understand?" he asks the Owl "Come with us, then."

The owl is no longer powered by the whisper but it seems ready to follow!

Tziporah looks to August, "Zara's right about you. You're a very decent man"

A sharp elbow as Tzip uses Zara's first name.

MMph, glare, then an apologetic shrug

"Thank you." August replies quietly.

"I just hope this rash of half starved Chimera ends" Teegan grumbles, for he is not aware of all that is going on, thjough perhaps more than he feels he can share

But for now, he leads them on towards the castle.

And Zara sees they have lost their sluagh tag along
