Zara keeps alert, taking it all in.

Zara sees one kithain going alone, a sluagh she suspects, hugging the shadows very well. She almost didn't see him. His voile is that of a back alley wino, minus the bottle or any other liquor

And.. he appears to be keeping pace with them. They are being shadowed!

A minute flick of an eyebrow. She sees him. And as a kithmate, she respects him enough to acknowledge him without clueing anyone else in.

And so they have an extra unseen escort, but does he mean good or ill?

"my dramatic sense is tingling " Tzip mutters "Thane, are there any other dangers that..."

"DUCK!" Ruzgarla calls out

August covers Zara as he ducks to the ground.

And it possibly saves Zara's life, the giant owl is so quiet even a sluagh had trouble hearing her. The Chimera seems hungry, ravenous, and it is the size of a mini van.

August, still protecting Zara with his body, looks up as the creature passes over "Not a duck, an owl!! Thane!"

Zara stares, wide-eyed - and kens

"Another Chimera attack" He says, grabbing a throwing axe "They've been plentiful of late. We don't know where the excess glamour is coming from." It begins to circle back

Zara realizes this is a dreamed Chimera, a recently dreamed one, no more than a week old. It is malformed, as if made too quickly but without a proper touch up

"Interesting. One of the reasons for 'buddies'?"

"Yes" He says "Pardon, the rest of you get to safety, I will..."

Flames erupt about the owl's feathhers, causing it to burni n the sky.

Ruzgarla snorts "I'm very tired of ambushes and sneak attacks on me. This story needs a new take"

Tziporah argues "Ambushes are fine in mulitple use , it can build tension."

"Let's get you to safety, with the others, and I'll come back to aid the Thane." August murmurs to Zara.

The owl screeches and comes down, blazing for another pass

And he drops his head, shielding Zara.

Tziporah grins "Safety? Where's the story in that!" And she calls out "Slu foot Sue, her marriage did rue, as she bounced on Widowmaker's saddle. For the springs in her gown, oh they pounded and pounded, a sound something a kinto a paddle... till finally she, went flying quite free, to the moon at which Pecos would howl! And now I bounce too, a target I knew, in the form of a blazing owl!" She leaps!

And she hopscotches, blade in hand, and strikes at it, wounding it in addition the flames "The name's Tziporah, remember it!"

Zara makes a choked, mewling sound as the poor Owl burns.

Inded, it gets worse for Zara, as the thane hurls his throwing axe at it as well. The ravenous owl now burning, and twice cut!

The owl crashes into the street. Burned, broken, and nearly dead.

August risks a glance up to judge safety.

"Twas only a few-days Dreamed."

August can ken the same, this creature was ALMOST born yesterday, yes, two days dreamed.

"Well, " Ruzgarla says "Was I supposed to let it pick one of us off as if were were field mice?"

August can also tell it IS alive.. barely.

He eases off Zara carefully "Could... could it be healed?"

Tziporah says "I'll kill it and end it's suffering so it... " Ands she stops "uhm.. healed?"
