The bed creaks, just a little.

Rubbing at her eyes, struggling to alertness.

A soft sound, and a whisper, close by. "Dagmar? I was going to wait until morning.... but... you awake?"

"Uh-huh."

"Look at me."

"I can't see you..." Frown.

"Exactly!" She can hear the gleeful smugness in his tone. "Put on those boots, and no one will see you, either! I found the spring."

"Yeah? Did you stop it up?"

"I couldn't.... I need someone stronger to shift the boulders. But I can see how. And... the giant is invisible, but if you know how to look, you can see where he is. It's like... when I was night-blind, in D... in the Funhouse? There are ways of seeing, and seeing."

"Sluagh can see through stuff, for sure."

"So... so, like I go up and shift the boulders?"

"No, that's just it. You can see his footsteps. The grass moves... and the soil shifts... it's a soft hillside. On a mountain slope, we'd be boned... but I can help you see where he is, and with your help, we can dam the spring! Without having to fight him at all."

"And in a few nights, when it wears off... oh, the entire band of warriors from the Village can give him a talking to...."

He has sounded excited about a new game, or a movie before. But a quest? He sounds positively... gleeful.

"That... that seems doable."

"Are you with me? Team Sagmar - oh. No, not that. Might and Guile. Yeah."

The boots float over....

"...You drank from the fountain?"

"So, of course. Double-sneak."

"There is magic in it, but it seems to only work when the moonlight hits it. So I couldn't get any back. That's what's keeping the Giant here. Without it... maybe he wouldn't even stay."

A tired smile. "This is why you get to be guile. Brains of the operation."

"Bullies like easy pickings."

"Oh yeah."

"You're the one who thought of the spring." He reminds her. "Want to snooze a little? I think we should go before sunrise... he's tromping around, and maybe will be tired and less wary by then."

"Or... do you think he sleeps by day?"

"He might. But sunrise, the light is all slanty, so that's good too.."

YAWN.

A soft pat on her arm. "Morning."

"I'll wake you."

"You sleep too. There's sluagh food in my backpack. Tove insisted." And she nods off.

He leans against her bed, and dozes as well. His own bed... well, someone might come sit on it. This is safer. Alarm set to vibrate and awaken just before sunrise...

Dag still snores. Softly.

Lovecraft tries to smoother Symon while he sleeps.. so the usual

They wake in the morning to the sound of roosters and hangovers

Sleepy whisper - "Lovecraft, kill that Rooster..." Rooster? Sunrise! It's time!

Lovecraft heads out

"Okay, I'm up..." She slept in her clothes, so getting ready is quick.

He sits up, realizing his head was pillowed on Dagmar's arm. At least he didn't drool!

"Did you want those Warriors three they promised? I think... maybe we take a horn in case of emergency, and just try the stealth route?"

"That seems smart. Though it'll be a few days before they can see him..."

"No worse than they started." A nod, then realizing he's unseen. "Right? Here, try on the boots...."

"Point." She pulls on the boots.

He watches her....

"Am I invisble?"

And ..yeah except.. he can see her

And.. she can see him

like.. a moment ago he was invisible.. now he's ..glassy?

"Weeeiiiiird!"

And she's glassy

"I smell but do not see" his snake says waking
