It's a down time in Ole Firnost. The statue of Brekke leading a lonely vigil near the fire.

Gauntlets clean the counter. The Jukebox plays Manic Monday by the Bangles, feeling a bit of an 80s vibe.

That's the nature of the place, anyone Changeling can come in, old timers, newcomers, and the songs here might be new to them or old comforts.

Which is one reason Gerd shows up. The gothicly dressed witchy troll heads straight for the kitchen area, supplies in hand. Tea for the sluagh, some custom wines from Silverwolf's Julius, and a Mexican wine ala Diego. She's not that attached to Firnost, but at one time, Brekke was, and Gerd believes in using her gifts to care for those places that cared for folks she cares about. The Gauntlets will have some more resources.

There's no expectations of her here, and that can be a relief. She's a troll, loves the jobs she has, but now and then, it's good to find a place to center herself.

Lose Yourself'— by Eminem starts up on the Jukebox. And she bobs along as she makes a cup of tea for herself.

"Poor guy, sounds like a fight with Banality put to song," She toasts the jukebox.

She texts a friend or two.

And sends a funny selfie to Connor, her little brother from another mother. I love that kid. She's so proud of him, apparently, according to Otto, Connor stopped an alien armada and got all the gang together to save the Earth AND Otto's feelings. Somehow, the troll is sure it's dead on.

An elderly sluagh, so decrepit that their gender isn't even readily visible, stirs in the shadows. It mutters something to itself, of course not legibly, and dozes off again.

One might wonder at the wisdom of sleeping in such a hive of scum and etc, until Gerd spots the tiny glowing dots of... something, lurking on the person of the sluagh. Too many eyes. Watching. Guarding.

The troll respects the elderly, mostly, and she's also not an idiot so she makes sure her tapping is quiet. She does make some more tea should the elder wake up.

Then, when the tea is ready, Gerd puts the saucer and full cup with options de sluagh near the elder and backs to her seat to go back to texting. It maybe cold by the time they wake up, but she figures it can't hurt.

I hang around too many boggans some days She observes with good humor as she scrolls through Fae Social Media on Dreamnet.

Her hand hovers near the 'five sexiest pooka guys' clickbait article link. Don't ffall for it, Gerd, it's a trap She warns herself.

She clicks on it anyway. Five pictures of Vince from Earth Runes appear and she groans, Why do I fall for this EVERY year?

So much for troll willpower.

She's not even sure it's Vince doing it. Could be a prank by a non pooka for that matter _So help me, if Siv and Coradel have worked together to set this up every year... _

Oh well, she doubts they have the tech skills. A light blush and she moves on. She sips her tea, looks around again, but the elder remains asleep.

Having had her break, she rises. Time to get back to some of her official duties.

And back to the trods she goes
