Thistle is almost sure she could give this another look over

Eureka! The gloves /gauntlets... she thinks she found the power source, it's ingrained in the bar which acts as a conduit to the balefire via symbolic symetry... the gloves themselves are amazing work, she can try to take them apart and put them together again, but might trigger that 'strangle failsafe' Caesar mentioned

She doesn't need to take them apart.... now.

"Gwen, check it..." The troll is treated to a stream of jargon that likely doesn't make much sense to her, but DOES sound enthused!

Gladiola listens to the stream of jargon, wonders how much of it was in actual English, but is glad for her friend, So she nods "Sounds like you might use something like yourself one day?" Supportive

"I could try! They could help Marigold."

"Oh geez. I don't know, mom might feel like we were trying to replace her with things" A look to the gloves "No offense, there gloves"

Squint.

"But they're a tool. They can't replace her."

"I know that, and you know that... but best check with her before we assume?"

"Feh! She should know!"

"She SHOULD, she's amazing; hell she's the best " Pride "But she sometimes gets funny ideas. You know, hates hospitals, tries to keep Briar from putting ketchup on things" To be fair, Briar puts ketchup on somethings to recreate blood spills more than flavor "And so on"

"Briar is right, ketchup's the bomb."

Caesar laughs

"Should try it in spaghetti sauce."

"Why do you violate nature's way??" Gwen says

"Ouch" Caesar chuckles

By now, with kenning and eyes on analysis, Thistle has some definite ideas on magical gloves/gauntlets she can work with.

She squirms free from the underworkings, satisfied.

"So you're here for a book?" Caesar says

"Copying some notes from it yes. We were told a copy was here" Gladiola says "No harm to the book or anything"
