He nods. "I have to admit, very little delights me as much as watching elves remove each other."

"Oh yes, the Gwydions or Liam will be on those harpists like white on rice," She says "If i may use a Boomer expression"

"So! Nicely done, Dearest." Warmly.

"Oh my, that's gonna be fun to hear about"

He lifts his eyebrows, questioning.

"Or more than hear?"

"Sorry, I don't understand, Deareat... about what?"

"Sicing elves on elves, I sort of expected us to get popcorn" She explains or hopes to

"Oh ho! You wish story time?"

Her eyes glisten "Depends, do I get to sit in your lap while you tell it?"

"I would have it no other way." A sly smile.

She shifts onto his lap "I find what that man did an abomination. But the Leanhaun for you."

"Hmmph. I find little of value in any elf. As you know."

"I know," she says "And the system of noblity is laughable rather than laudible"

"So.... A story....." he ponders.

She wiggles in his lap

He chuckles. "You distract me...."

"Opps" A smile and wink

"Hmmm..." he settles her "Well, there was an occasion that comes to mind..."

He slides his arms around her. "A Gwydion Count was reveling in his authority much too strongly; demanding tithes, requiring service, antagonizing neighbors..."

"One of those neighbors was a Dougal baron under another, adjoining County."

"Both houses are stuffy" She says

"I started with a whisper campaign, suggesting the Dougal was impugning the Gwydions honor, indirectly. "

"Let that fester for a month, as I recall. Floating rumors and then another from a different supposed source, nothing that can be nailed down. Drove the falcon mad....." A chuckle.

"They are twitchy.. and once they get an idea in their head, they tend to fixate"

"And oh, did he....."

"Then a similar campaign with the Dougal, but focused on the County's supposed intent to take the Baron away."

"A matter of honor for one, a matter of demense for the other"

"Mmm. So after a few month of that, letting it get cold and bringing it up again, they were ready to kill each other.

"And then they did."

"Well, that's anti climatic, was it in a duel? Assasination attempts? Did the Dougal run over the Gwydion in a battering ram? What?"

"They went to war." Smugly. "With all their knights and nobles."

"There were some unfortunate camp accidents that led to additional losses."

"You got them sending their knights out OH my god that's ..that's... " She says "Baby, I am impressed. Talk about seven in one blow"

He chuckles. "It used up resources, ended elf lives, destroyed defenses, and thanks to careful planning, left opening for talented commoners to assume more authority."

"Yes, I bet the commoners were just 'by luck ' in the right place at the time. " A smile, "If I were interested in a governership, you'd be the one I'd go to"

He kisses her. "But you already have one!"

"I do, don't I?" A kiss back

"Yes." And she knows he is very happy from the way he says it.

"Maybe later I'll tell you how I arranged for a Fiona to kill her suitors one by one."

Wide eyes. "Ooohhhh...." she has whet his appetite.

"Oh, she was a superstitious lot, so when an old crone soothsayer warned her that her love would die at the hand of a lover..."

"It must have made her mad...."

"Oh, yes No sooner would one lover seem the likely future culprit, then no no it had to be another..."

"of course, the real trick was watching her true love's face when her crimes were revealed. He spurned her... and ...to fufill the oath taht was ..suggested to her...she killed the only person left she could reach who had endangered her love... herself. I'll give her credit, some nobles insist on beheading, but she took the noose"
