"She ran with them, man. She was told to come, bust up my hands." He grimaces at a memory, pulling his right hand in, closing it without realizing* "She, like, came to me, warned me off, you know? I should've listened."

"Went back anyway. But, like, I got set up, you know? One of my regulars, and this chick with a really nice ass, you know, Gloria?"

"And the dudes were waiting. They kicked my ass, man, and, like, busted one of my hands. Was going to do the other, then Rain-girl showed up."

Gloria REALLY has a nice ass, he says with a grin.

"Yeah." A grin in return, genuine this time* "Sometimes, like, went busking on her block just to watch her go by, man." He shakes his head, still grinning, but it fades again as he goes on* "But yeah. So, Rain-girl showed up, and like. They were messing with her, I think. Can't remember really well, but there were guns blazing, man. It was.....man, it was fucked up."

"And that's like, when she was headed to the hospital, we were both kind of messed up, but I was worse, you know? And before we could go in, she did her....thing."

"And so I called you, man."

"She shot this guy, big dude, Michael. Some white supremacist gang. And so now they're after her, you know?" *His eyes continue to trail through the air; whatever he sees -- or imagines, there -- seems to calm him "And me, too, I guess. Just by, like, extension."

His expression changes along with the telling; winces of remembered pain, eyes widening in wonderment with accompanying headshake, disgust*

And... no one'd find her. Long as she stays in the clubhouse, he mutters. I get that you don't trust Jarrod. You likely shouldn't entirely. But... he's doing it to fuck with you, mostlyu.

"Go between thinking he's not so bad, you know? Guy can -- man, have you heard him on guitar? But then he says shit like that, and...." *He makes a face "Dude, there isn't much, but you know, I draw a line at murdering people. If he really wants to keep people there? He needs to put a lid on that, man."

"Pod people, fine, man, your thing. You want to talk to dead people? Right on. Making them that way? Fuck that."

His eyes turn back to Nick, then, and -- he's still bewildered* "So, like, tell me. It was wrong to....you know, try and get Rain-girl off meth? You know what that does, man."

He rolls his shoulders, and his head finally lowers, to look back to Luke. You know... killing's different from murder, right? It's not... Like when she shot the guy. He looks back to Luke. Why would Jarrod be against it? What were his words?

"Not to me, man. Same thing." He looks down, thumbs the chakra beads, uncomfortably* "He said....he said it was hypocritical of me, you know? Like, I was trying to impose some kind of morality, man, like weed is the same thing." His expression is wincing* "He started talking about focuses, saying I didn't know shit, right? Kind of made it sound like, I was getting in the way, you know? Had me apologize for taking it away."

"Then he made an apple, like, dissolve in blood. I guess it was supposed to show that, like, you guys can break the rules when it comes to that. I guess, man. I am not getting it."
