"Well, if the void is on your side in this... you can learn important stuff, like self cleaning. If not on your side? Wrench time." She nods

"I...think I might have a way of finding out what side she's on." She goes over to where her backpack sits, unzipped, in the corner. "Flopsy, you there?" She 'knocks' gently on one of backpack's outer pockets.

Flopsy's ears come out, "I am, but if you're hoping I'll do your work for you on this one I'm not sure. That cat would eat me if she could."

Sylvi sits down cross-legged on the floor. "Well, I was kind of hoping you could find out what she knows, maybe take her temperature on the idea of getting rid of the pendant. But if not that...can you maybe arrange a kind of parlay? She can come here, and I can talk with her directly? Maybe when Symon's asleep."

"Either way I risk being eaten" He points out.

"Some of you MAY die," Rikki says "But it is a sacrifice she is willing to make" Her best Farquad impesonation

A frown. "I thought you guys were both part of the same chimera guild or whatever it is."

An eyebrow at Rikki.

"Loosely," He says "And I stepped down from a leadership role" He confesses

"You didn't tell me." A concerned look. "I want to know more, but first things first -- who is in a leadership role?"

"Well, one leader is Farhowl of the Skywolves. Wasn't crazy about a predator but he's been sensible"

"Maybe I should reach out to him." She looks to Rikki. "Want to come along?"

"Curiousier and curiouser, said Alice" The pooka nods "Sorry you got deposed, FLopinator"

"I didn't get deposed I.. well, nevermind that." Flopsy hmms

It's not often that Flopsy is evasive. "No, what? Go on."

"Well, I knew you might need alles at the college and the council would take up too much of my time so I.. stepped down" He admits "I didn't tell you because I didn't want you doing that 'troll thing'"

"Where they act like they were bad because someone ELSE sacrificed something instead of them, and it threatens their monopoly?" Rikki asks unhelpfully

"Yes, the troll thing" Flopssy says

Sylvi makes a face at both of them. "Well, you were right about me needing allies. I guess I didn't realize that a position like that would be time consuming for you. I guess I sort of envisioned it all happening in some kind of other time in the Near Dreaming or something."

"Sometimes we did, but you can't always count on the passage" Floppsy says "And I still have to worry about location" he admits "Not many trods near Rutgers. Don't worry about it. I'm a big bunny, made my own choices"

Sylvi's instinct is, indeed, to do the troll thing. But of course, she can't do that now that she's been preemptively called out. Instead, she gives him a serious look and says, "I owe you."

"I'm very sure you will insist you do even if I disagree" Floppsy says with a certain resigned fondness.

"Yup." She turns back to Rikki. "So, okay, we talk to FarHowl, see if he's willing to get Lovecraft into a parlay with us. Then figure out from Lovecraft where she stands on things, what info she has that she's willing to share, and whether she's willing to help. If she doesn't want to talk at all...you're on your own, Rikki."

They make their way towards the woods, where the skywolves dwell

"Yes, as an unseelie I can never violate a promise, why that's the same as an oath" The pooka gives a side look. Technically she COULD bail on this.

"You could," Sylvi agrees reasonably. "And I wouldn't forget that you did."

"I don't suppose it would help if I reminded you that we're helping out another unseelie?"

Rikki grunts, trying for trollish, but it comes across as ("Butternut itches when applied"). The pooka curse really is inescapable, and troll speak isn't for everyone.

"Um...sure."

Finally they come to the woods and Floppsy bounds down, and pounds his leg in a tempo quite speccific "We seek Farhowl"

Sylvi waits behind Flopsy, standing quietly and respectfully.

There is a fluttering sound, and Farhowl appears, "Floppsy? What brings you?" The handsome winged wolf settles on the ground and sniffs, "Sylvi, I remember you, though not well." A look to Rikki and yellow eyes narrow "And you, the one who ties strings and cans to the tails of sleeping wolves"

Rikki forces a WIDE smile "Thought it would give you and Thane Tiffany something to bond over"

Sylvi just barely manages not to facepalm. She clears her throat. "Farhowl, it is good to see you. I have asked Flopsy to help set up this meeting. I would like your help in arranging a discussion with a chimera."

"That is part of my current duty, I understand" he admits then asks "It is not Snow is it? Because we have TRIED an intervention and we suggest the Hearth just close the shutters and let the fruit pies cool INSIDE"

That gets a grin. "No, we pretty much get that there's not much we can do to stop Snow. Farhowl, I ask if you can help Rikki and me to meet and parlay with Lovecraft, without Symon knowing."

"mmm, this is difficult" he admits "While she is not just a cat, Lovecraft is MOSTLY cats, and cats do not always like being summoned. We may try, of course. The problem is with Symon, he is of your changelings most perceptive kith, even the trolls do not have such senses"

"I know. I do think, though, that he might be currently distracted, possibly even to the point where Lovecraft is being neglected." There, make it a rescue mission.

"mm" Farhowl considers this "Lovecraft is private, that is my only consulation that we did not notice any neglect. We will try to arrange this meeting. We may require some mice or voles but that shouldn't be too hard. Is there a time limit on this?"

"I wish there weren't, but we need to move quickly. No more than a day would be best, no more than two might still be safe."

At that, Farhowl looks surprised, "Such short notice? This I cannot promise."

"I understand. I don't ask for a promise, but I do ask for an attempt. Please. We're trying to help both Lovecraft and Symon, and possibly others as well."

"The right of rescue is of the Kithain Escheat, but we do have something similar with Chimera. I will see who I can get aid from to make this happen. If we get news , we shall send word to ... " A pause "Goldfinch or your lodge?"

"Goldfinch, first. If not there, then the Lodge."

"Very well" he readies his wings "Then I go. "

"My thanks, Farhowl." She gives a respectful bow.

"You are welcome, it is good to see old leaders return" He says, with a pointed look at Flopsy, and he takes off

Floppsy pretends he didn't see the look

Rikki says "Boy do wolves hold a grudge"

A furrowed brow at Flopsy. "Sounds like he'd like you back as leader."
