The beat of Goldfinch has changed a bit. You would think linking a grump to it would mellow it out, but Etsie's has added an energy.

Sylvi grins as she returns to the hold and hears the wailing of that lead guitar.

Indeed, it roars from near the fire.

She moves through the main floor of the studio and back to the basements stairs, following the music down to the balefire.

Hendrix would be proud

She wouldn't dream of interrupting the grump, so she takes a seat and listens.

It plays out, then comes to an end, "Hey there, welcome back. How did the Arms deal go?" A grin

A chuckle at the pun. "It went great, actually! There were several entries, and it was a really tough call. He ended up choosing one and having one as a backup. I hope he won't need it, but..." she shrugs "...history has played out that way."

"Also, Chieftain Hewitt said that he's going to send a cut of the ticket sales to Goldfinch."

"I could learn to like that Scotsman" A strum "Wonder what he's got under the kilt some days but I hear he's got a lady. Did you get to say a long good bye to your own guy?"

A blush and a grin. "Well, first there was a little retail therapy..." she indicates her shopping bags "...but yeah."

"Oh hey, retail therapy is good therapy. What did you get?"

"Wellllll..." She starts setting items on the edge of the stage. "There's this amazing jewel-glitter eyeshadow, the stuff I'm wearing now. I also picked up some really nice lounging cushions an eshu was selling. She had this amazing story about how they were just like the ones that the sultan would have sat one while Shaharizad was telling her tales." The sequins and silk on the pillows glimmer in the stage light and balefire flicker.

"Ooo tusch cushion"

A few other items get set out. "And that's about it. If you see anything you like, feel free to claim it," she offers.

"well, one of the cushions might become a favorite but I'll keep it here" She nods looking over the things "good finds, kiddo"

"Thanks." The praise brings a smile. "How've things been here?"

"Let's see... I think that DeBuke guy, Djilas, got his heart broke a little by Lucia. Did not see THAT coming. Basil and Tikki killed a nightmare chimera that tried to attack a child but neither was really hurt by it and the kid is okay . We got another person interested in music lessons. Oh, and the Vending machine dropped a condom as a prize. I.. think my influence maybe to blame for that"

"Well, I might be biased, but good for Lucia. But I guess I should really know the whole story. And...well...honestly, the vending machine has dropped less useful things, right?"

"True. Unless you like rocks" She nods "Otherwwise , pretty relaxed here. We've been helping out with the patrols kind of with Rivervale, though I think our lack of regular reports makes the folks there twitchy."

"I'm sure they're glad for the help, either way." She bites her lip and looks towards the stairs.

"Okay with the lip bite. What's that mean in troll ese?"

"Oh...um." A shrug. "I guess, just...y'know, college starts soon, and I just don't know how it's all going to work. But...I guess it will, one way or another, huh?"

"Thought that's why I became your Veep? " SHe offers "I promise to call you if trouble gets heavy. I'm not THAT proud"

"Yeah, and I really appreciate that you're going to be here. It just...well, I guess it's a troll thing? Kind of feel like I'm shirking or something."

"Your kith does tend to play Atlas a lot. But has it occured to you that the college might have contacts that can help the hold? Think about it, Music and theatre programs there could help folks here, maybe dreamers"

"That's true...." She hadn't considered that before. "It's just...weird."

"Oh sure. Different always is, but hey, here at Goldfinch don't we celebrate the Weird?"

The fire seems to chuckle in agreement and comfort alike

A fond smile to the fire. "Hey, you two are ganging up on me."

"But thanks. I get what you mean."

"Maybe I've just got a case of FOMO."

"Fair. How do we make sure you don't miss out too much?" An offer

"I don't know. And, well, the flipside is that I'm kind of worried that maybe I'll get so caught up in what's there that I won't pay as much attention to the stuff I should here. Which, okay, I know you'll be here, and you've got it handled, and you'll keep me in the loop. I just...." She trails off.

"I'm, uh, not too good at sticking with things, sometimes," she admits.

"I know no kid wants to hear this, but you do kind of have both Rover and Hearth tendencies when it comes to work"

Yes, the dreaded 'you take after your parents' though at least she didn't use that exact comment

She blinks. "Uh...well, thanks, but how do you figure?"

"Your dad is dedicated but mobile. He's a troulbe shooter. He wanders and goes where shit hits and then is gone again . Your mom is mostly stationary.. current sitch aside, she holds by one lodge and provides. She has a routine . He has more spontanity but less anchor. And there you are... possibly with urges for both"

She blinks again, her brow furrowed. "I never really thought about it quite like that."

"It's not a bad thing, and it's just a hypothetical, but it might explain you feeling pulled?"

"Yeah." A frown, then a wry grin. "Kinda want it all, you know?"

"Ha. No shame in the wanting"

"Says the satyr," she points out.

"I confess, I have a bias" A nod "but I think even some trolls would agree with me that it is the means you use to your ends that make something dishonorable. Not the wanting"

"And...you think the means I'm using are okay?" Checking that she understands.

"Oh sure. You haven't stabbed anyone in the back or the like"

She nods. "I haven't been in the position where that was an option, as far as I know. I've been lucky that way."

She still looks a little troubled, but better.

"Hey, sorry, trying to help not give you more headaches. We'll work it out. And If I don't keep steady reports we'll find someone who will help me do it. A Goldfinch historian or something"
