to be fair here, the cola here in Mexico often uses real sugar rather than corn syrup, but still

"Actually, ladies, I like the coke here. But no, I'm find for now. I did talk to Diego. Has coffee been delivered here, and then gone missing once it's here? And, you know... put away?

"Si, taken right from the pantry or so it seems" A nod

"The pantry?" The other scoffs "I managed to put a pot on... I turned away, and POOF"

"I mean, I didn't SEE it Vanish... but it was gone when I looked back."

"Did you kenn? Was there a trace that Arts had been used? Was there anyone hanging around who isn't usually hanging around?"

"I was so startled I forgot to Ken" Rosa admits

"I did ken the pantry, but I am not the best at it and noticed nothing" Maria adds

"We didn't notice any strangers" Rosa says

"Nor the usual suspects for mischief" Maria confirms

Jess thinks "Do you happen to know if Diego has been sourcing our coffee from different suppliers or the same usual ones?"

"Diego is more particular with wines, but as far as I know he's not changed our supplier" One says/"Not that we always come from the same supplier" The other reminds her fellow boggan /"Si, we have two main suppliers. One for the fancier stuff, one for the standard... but both have gone missing"

Jessica makes a note to change that up.

"Ok. Ladies... is there -anything- you can think of that might help resolve what's happened to all the coffee? I'm concerned about that, but more about what it says about our security and what else might go missing."

"Well, we don't like the idea of treating everyone like a thief" Maria humphs "But we did wonder if it was a pooka prank"

"But we don't want to blame them unfairly" Rosita adds

"Same here, on all counts. Hm."

"ALso, questioning pooka leads to a lot of frustration"

"Same." Jess replies, still thinking. "Is there coffee outside the freehold? Like.... is Tijuana suffering a caffinee drought or are the cafe's open?"

"Well.. we don't like to gossip, but rumor has it that other places nearby are running low too. But we can still get some from cafe's more than 15 Kilometers away"

"Does it seem like there's a ... bubble? A ... coffee bubble?"

"Or a coffee curse" Rosalita crosses herself "El Diablo's eyes are on our coffee!"

"Get a grip, Rosa" Maria says, but looks nervous too

"Let's hope not." Jess advises. "Thank you, ladies. If anything else occurs to you, please let me know right away?"

"We shall be alert always"

"Thanks." And Jessica is going for a walk.

Jessica knows the area well, she has lived here for years. The city is dangerous, high crime rates, etc. But it also has good people who need hope, who thrive on family... and some of them are coffeedrinkers.

She is on guard, of course, and armed as well as being a healthy, strong, tall woman.... and she's looking for a cuppa.

She finds a cafe, just opening up. Nothing fancy, no Starbucks level of vareity

She doesn't need that. She steps in, greets the staff/counter people, and orders a black coffee, regular.

The woman working at the counter has seen her before, on jogs mostly, "Coming right up" She says and pours one quite quickly "Anything else?"

"No, thanks. This is good. Been having trouble getting coffee in some places."

"I've been hearing that" She says "Some of the artistic community. Odd. I got plenty"

"Artist having trouble finding coffee? They kinda run on the stuff, dont' they?"

"Si, you'd think they'd give up on the mocha espresso latte spice stuff "

The long nose, trunk like, sucks up the contents of her cup

A sigh; it can have it. For now.

It blinks out of sight as soon as it pulls back.

She struggles to remember seeing it. But her willpower holds.
