"And I think hot air ballons will be fun" She admits

"Hmmm?" Jess blinks, having drifted off in thought for a moment.

"Hot Air Balloons for the festival. It's a bit showy but you know Skyhook will love it, and folks can take rides over the city protected by chicanery"

"That seems... pretty showy. Even with chicanery. I mean... that's a lot of dross to hide them."

"I'm not saying no, just.... resources."

"Maybe limit it to one baloon with a limited flight path?" She suggests

"That... sounds like a good compromise. Ok."

She makes a note of it "Obviously, food won't be a problem, but should we have a contest or judging for our many fine cooks?

"

"Crafters in general? Highsummer's coming in July.... "

"A fair point."

"But that's a different kind of vibe, I think." Jess decides "No, let this be to celebrate this victory, uniquely."

"So yes, a hot air balloon and crafter's contest and... mmm.... artist's contest? Something to celebrate the good stuff in life, the stuff we fought for."

"Why not an art contest with a them? 'The good stuff in life' and 'what's worth fighting for' both sound like good themes"

"Ok, let's do that."

She writes it down as well, and takes another bite of food.

"Okay, I was more hungry than I realized. Shall we extend invitations to the DeBukes and other allies outside the County?"

"Those that were involved, yes."

She writes that down too.

"And... you know, the usual Fiesta stuff. Food, drink, music, games...."

She ponders then says "Should I open a town hall meeting asking for suggestions?"

"Might not be a bad idea... as long as we can manage expectations. I'd hate to disappoint people if some suggestions don't get adopted."

"Fair point. Maybe we'll start out saying we can only take a few, make them aware of the limits of time and options before we rile them up"

Jess nods "It's not that I don't want the input, or I don't want to give folks what -they- want but...."

"Only so many can make it" She nods "We'll find a balance. Trust your subjects to have some empathy for each other"

She does write down some notes though on ideas how to keep it from offending...

and it looks to be shaping up well
