Brekke gives Siv a grateful look. "You are all strong and ready, and we will not be completely out of reach. We expect to leave around midsummer." A visual check with Frank.

Siv nods at this. But glances at Jessica to see how she's holding up

"And Siv, I will not mention to Sylvi that I heard this from you. I have sufficient reason to speak more with her on this, regardless."

Frank nods agreement with the timeline.

Jess looks a bit flattened by all this, but she takes a deep breath and nods.

"She's worried," An admission. She's not the only one, but Siv does her best to mask that

Brekke looks around the group. "None of us do well with change, I know. But...why worry? All is well."

"Yeah." Jess says, and then again "Yeah."

Siv looks at her dad, "Does this mean you'll be retiring from trucking?"

He nods. "It does. Probably take a last run when we go up to Alaska. Keep the Rig around of course." he glances at Brekke to see what she thinks of the idea.

Brekke nods; this was never a question. "The Kestrel will come with us as well," she adds.

"Perhaps on a subsequent visit."

"I can fly it up to ye if you like" Siv offers

Brekke nods. "That would be a kindness."

Siv nods "Be happy to. I'll bring the Narwhal in it's bottle and use that to get back. It's going to be very different. " A brow lift, "Won't we be a bit understaffed? I know that will be Hearth.. pardon, Chief Kerri's call, but... Dagmar will have college, Sylvi too. Not in Summer I suppose but ..." She juggles the logistics in her head "Well, there might be enough"

"If Rivervale needs some temporary help, we could probably do that." Jess offers.

A nod to Jessica, "Thank ye, sis"

A nod. "That is part of the reason for the long lead time. Dagmar and Sylvi will each have a chance to finish the college semester before the change happen." A nod to Jessica. "Again, a kind offer."

"Dagmar is, I believe, ready in most ways to become Storm, but her schooling must come first. And so Olgar will be Storm in her place until her education is completed."

"The Count has also put a condition upon this -- that we recruit at least two more trolls to serve the Lodge and the barony before we depart. A balance, he says."

"It is a reasonable request."

Jess nods slowly; she agrees.

"Olgar will be a fine storm " Siv says "And Dagmar will grow into the role and has held up well when tested. " She looks thoughtful for a moment then goes on "We'll see what Jonas and Uncle Jaymes want. They might step up." She says "two new trolls? Does the Count think we're on linked in?"

"Well.... there are the DeBukes." Jess observes.

"If Hearth Kerri agrees to be Baroness, Dagmar will do fine as Storm. If something else must happen, and a stranger installed, I think Rivervale will require Olgar in that role if only for a bit."

A nod to Jessica. "The DeBukes and Rivervale have a strong history of transplanting."

"More in one direction than the other, but I think there is good potential there. And...the Dreaming will provide, I believe."

Siv nods "Not sure how the DeBukes will feel about it if they're expected to bend knee to the Count, but help? Sure. Well, this is... quite the news. Mom, da, you realize you'll be having a big farewell party before you slip out for Alaska?"

A brief snort of amusement. "I think that would be enjoyable."

"It will be the right time of year for such a celebration."

"Aye" Siv rallies a smile at that "Quite the to do."

"Where in Alaska are you going?"

((Brekke's player doesn't really know but...)) Brekke describes the area near StarBear as a possibility. "It is not settled yet, though."

"Many arrangements must be sorted out. Telling Rivervale and family was the first step after speaking with the Count."

"Kodiak Island near Snowmantle? Good man... "A beat "For a Gwyd"

A quiet chuckle. "Quite the endorsement."

Jess seems quietly relieved.

"You agree, Jessica?"

"Agree?"

"That he is a good man? You looked relieved at something...?"

"Oh. I, um, I don't really know him. I've heard a few stories, and yes, from those he seems a good man."

Brekke nods, but is silent, inviting her to continue.

"Sylvi and Gerd both like him. That's a good sign"

Then she nods to Jessica to keep going as well "Sorry, sis. I intrerupted"

"Um, no. I mean, that's all I had to say."

Brekke watches her another moment, then takes another sip of coffee. ((Shady, see PM.))

"At any rate...now you know. We did not want the news to spread further until we had spoken with you both."

Frank sips his drink as well; not coffee, not this late in the day. He has a glass of local fruit juice.

"I appreciate that." Jess says soberly.

"Honestly I wish I knew right when the others did" True "But I can see why you'd want me and Jessica to find out together. "
