"Would you care to dance?" One sidhe lord bows before Jessica, "Your excellency? It would be an honor"

Jessica offers a bow back. "I'm honored, but I'm hardly dressed for the event. Nor am I a skilled dance. I thank you for the invitation."

"You are dressed just fine, if I maybe so bold, and skill, while admirable, is not required for the effort," The sidhe smiles "Anything worth doing is worth doing badly, I know from personal experience" The sidhe smiles "If the answer is still no, then I apologize and will be on my way"

"I wouldn't want to take away the attention the Baron is due at this event, so I will decline but I thank you again and there's no apology needed. You've done nothing wrong or unwelcome."

"Oh yes, the baron may yet woo my sister if she wishes" for only a moment, his smile fades just a touch as he glances at his sister with the Baron, "But it is her choice," then he turns back to Jessica "And I must abide by it. Speaking of which, I leave you be, but it was a pleasure, your excellency He turns to go

She offers him a bow as he departs.

"He was mannerly" the Duke observes "But I can't say I know the fellow"

"I don't recognize him either. I suppose it's possible the Baron sent invitations out further abroad."

"Likely depending on what each can offer" He nods

"Mm." Jess watches the glittering throng swirl.

They're all lovely, even the non sidhe (Who are few)

but more than that, she notices each one has little touches not just of dress, but jewelry. And some mix with their dance steps elaborate use of cantrips

They are called the Shining Host for a reason. she recalls.

"They're showing off their magical prowess as well. Interesting" the Duke observes "A lady without land may still show power"

"If the guests are from far afield, land might not be a useful resource to bring."

"Oh yes. Besides, they're looking to HIM for land."

"Yes."

She realizes the Duke is evaluating thier cantrips for his own knowledge

She sees through a side hall, an enchanted daughter of eve, carrying laundry?

A faint grimace crosses her features, but she dismisses it. It's the Baron's holding and doesn't violate the Escheat....

The servant is finally dressed for such a task... and wears no Sunkissed marks.

OOC: Shes in a rather nice gown herself. More personal handmaiden than typical laundress servant

OOC She's overdressed for washing day and not visibly a member of the Household.

A frown and Jessica bows to the Duke. "With your permission, Your Grace?"

"OF course" he nods

She passes across the room in the general direction of that hallway, but pauses to engage with one of the (liveried) Sunkissed Staff.

A boggan looks up , he wears the livery and bows "Your excellency. Care for a truffle?"

"No, thank you. May I ask, do you have enchanted mortals on the staff? Laundry staff?"

"Oh no mortals, no. Right of ignorance and all. Kinain maybe with permission... " the boggan says "Oh, do you mean Michelle? Poor girl. Can't disobey a moment, permanent dictum on her by Lady Chara. As if we couldn't be trusted to handle her laundry ourselves. '

That grimace is back, and she might not even realize it "Lady Chara?"

"One of the would be brides" the boggan sniffs, the soft arrogance of a man who serves a great lord who he is sure could do better "I certainly hope SHE doesn't win. It's not that she's a Leanhaun, mind you. It's the causal cruelty in her. One can be lofty without stepping on others"

"Mm." this could be taken for agreement "And she wants her laundry handled, um, privately?"

"Just so" the boggan looks offended "we know how to handle delicates with respect"

"Of course. Hm. Thank you." she moves a bit away, as if on the currents of the party... but not far from that hall.

"Most welcome, your excellency" And off he goes

She lingers

And watches.

And once more, that mortal comes by.

Jess nods to her; a greeting, polite. Acknowledgement.

She stops, "Do you require anything , Countess?" this is not her first time enchanted

"No, not at the moment. Have we met?"
