She nods. "One I'll keep in mind."

The Duke gives an approving if subtle nod, then says "In truth, Baron, your party has inspired me. How soon must you choose?"

THe Baron arches a brow at the seeming nonsequetor "No doubt, the ladies hope I will choose quickly, but it is not to be tonight, this is but the first of the events"

The Duke ponders "It seems to me, that if we are to make contact with the Mer or Nunehi, some of their ladies should be given a chance to be .. in the running, if it will not offend them"

"Um. As regards Baron Tidemarch?"

"Yes" The Duke says "HE is clearly willing to marry for the greater good, and that's a great sacrifice to we seelie's eyes. Perhaps , Countess, you should suggest some women of seelie houses who might be interested?"

"I think the women should suggest themselves, if they are so inclined."

"But should they be made to know that the opporutnity exists?" THe Duke inquires

"I think that would be up to the Baron."

The baron inclines his head to the Countess "I am grateful you think so, my liege. And I ...regret if I seemed over reaching earlier. I believe the Dukee is teaching me a small lesson about the danger of... presumption and how it can go both ways" A nod to the Duke "And well done if so, your grace."

The Duke nods "It was an interesting gambit"

Jess looks as though she's hearing faint voices in a distant room; she knows it's language, but doesn't quite understand it.

Oh it's hard to hear much through that stone, but she can imagine the women on display are talking aobut how the object of their allure is still missing

OOC Jess's expression is more about what the Baron and Duke are talking about vs. the literal sound of voices.

The Duke says "Now, Countess. Perhaps you would wish to tell the Baron more about who you want as an inbetween between you and he for frequent reports?"

OOC Sorry, I'm drawing a blank. Was that discussed or is this out of the blue for Jess?

OOC: well, the idea of an in between was new

BIC: "IF you think one is a good idea" the Duke says

Jess looks at Tidemarch "We have regular messengers and good lines of communications, yes?" checking with him.

"That seems prudent" A nod "We should be the only ones who know those people are" the Baron says "For their own protection. Enemies might try seize them"

"The Nunnehi?"

"The ones who are not seeking peace, yes" The Baron says

She nods "I think we're ok on that, Your Grace."

"Excellent" The Duke says "Now, Baron... the Countess and I discussed a few things but in little time. " He repeats a few more, then says "But you have the important part. And I know YOU, are no friend to the Beltaine Blade"

"The Beltaine Blade works against us?" The Baron looks intrigued "Now there is a worthy challenge"

"I've read stories about this group. What do they want in Renaissance, Your Grace?"

"I'm not sure... but if they hinder peace, they keep Duke Topaz at war, and that hinders the Brotherhood of Thor," the Duke speculates, "A troll group of nobles who the Beltaine Blade consider ..unsavory"

"Do you think they could be the ones offering aid and allyship with the mainland Nunnehi?"

"Covertly? It's possible"

"Hmph."
