BUt she has to get ready to visit her folks for thanksgiving. It's not the day yet, but she's been invited to come days early

She's familiar with the history of the County, of course, and of Fenix before it was Fenix.

Yes, the land is troubled, and always has been, but it also always had beauty woven into it's challenges.

The boggan who alerted them to Larisa got his commendation, and nearly fit to burst with pride. He visited the new Fledge and is almost like a doting uncle to her now.

And speaking of boggans, Fenix's cooks are making lots of food and asking Jessica to add it to the Hearth's stores, as a thanksgiving gift

Jess agrees, and will take it with her when she visits Rivervale for Thanksgiving.

Ash moves with her "Everything seems ready for your departure."

"I'll be back the next day." she assures.

"Why don't you go early?" Dame Ashlyn inquires "No need to pop in for just one day"

"I have duties here." reasonably.

"True, but you have folks who can shoulder those duties for a week or at least 3 days" She observes

Jess looks uncomfortable. "They can, absolutely. But they shouldn't have to if I'm here."

A brow lift, then she says "It's not just Roseta and Maria being their usual selves, even Diego thinks you deserve more time off"

"-I- don't want more time off."

"I should have known better" She admits "When Vali was my squire if he didn't have something to do, he pouted"

A shrug. "We are what our Dreams are."

"So by that logic, I should be able to order you about despite the fact you out rank me, to go relax for a week?" the sidhe grump smiles

"I mean, sidhe dreams are very bossy"

Jess considers this. "I think, maybe, you might not be comfortable doing that. I think some part of you recognizes rank and what it can mean. Although of course I don't throw that around."

"You don't, and you're right. We sidhe tend to be touchy about titles, even a small house like Beaumayn, and the respect due. ALso, if it's going to make you miserable rather than relaxed there's no point. Any orders while you're gone for the day in particularly?"

"Hold things together." simply.

"I'll keep Diego from breaking out the guilotines" A nod

"Thank you." dryly.

A soft chuckle, "Please give Sir Vali my fondest wishes while you're there?"

"Of course."

"Thank you. I really wish he had time to visit more. Love to see his wife and son. I feel SO old thinking he's a grump now himself"

"I'll invite them all to visit." She offers.

"Well, good luck. Trolls and duty and all" but a pat on the shoulder "Thank you, Jessica. I do appreciate you trying"

"Least I can do." Jess gives her a smile.

A nod "Oh, my word, I got so caught up in your business I forgot to give you the news on my end. Ellie's lessons go along swimmingly, she is getting to be a scary good little swordfighter for a childling, and Mr. Viggo's classes have helped her reading to the point where she is no longer behind. Though she still prefers Salma's version of tales... but who can blame her?"

A chuckle. "That's excellent to hear... Salma has an eshu's flair for storytelling."

"Living proof that our dreams overlap and in wonderful ways" A nod of agreement, "I confess, I've listened at the door sometimes when she is talking about the little train that could AND had a big axe handy in case anyone disputed that"

Speaking of one of Holger's favorite tales

She chuckles again.

"Ah, yes, Ariel willbe away at the Farmhold for Thanksgiving . As for Holger, I'm sure thanksgiving is quite a mystery for a mexican boy beyond what he sees on TV however, I think the kids might enjoy the Macey's Day parade on TV"

Jessica nods "They are, on the whole, Mexican kids. Except Ariel."

A nod "I'll leave it to Countess Ellie while you're gone if she wishes to hold a feast of sorts anyway"

"That would be fine."

"Want me to take pictures if they do?"

"Sure, I'd love to see them."

"Lovely, well, unless you have specific orders for me, I think my own duty is done for the day save patrol" She puts her hand on her hilt

"No, that sounds about right. Thank you, Dame."

A bow nod, "You're welcome, your excellency" And off she goes to patrol
