"Oh, I'd LIKE to think so" She admits

"There you go." Jessica encourages "I mean, you couldn't be an actress without fancy and nonsense, could you?"

"You are very much a whimsical one it seems" A smile slips out "You didn't strike me as the sort"

A sheepish grin. "I've been called on, occasionally, to be goofy."

"Takes courage, doesn't it?" SHe admits "We... no that's not fair to you, but 'I' worry it means I may not be taken seriously as an actress. "

"I bet you can find hundreds of examples of young actresses in commercials super-early in their career that they wish didn't exist." Jess points out.

"Yes, and it haunts them "

"I'm just saying, you're not alone and those other actresses went on to success. Albeit, I guess they have to have a sense of humor about it."

"Now that I have, or try to." A smile "I once played in an improv skit where everyone had to treat me as if I were hideous... was actually fun." Says the lovely woman, and a bit of banality eases at the memory "I recoiled at my own reflection"

"What film are you making now? You said you were the leads best friend?"

"that's my role in character, not a truth. Frankly she's a bit of a ... a bit unpleasant. The Movie is called 'In Fear's shadow' A romance thriller"

"Oh, that's what I meant. Your character's the lead's best friend. Sorry. A romance thriller?"

"Yes, the hero and the killer both want our heroine, she's drawn to both" A roll of the eyes "Just once I'd like to see a woman pull off something where if she has to go after the bad guy, she'd disgusted with him the whole time but hides it well ans sets HIM into a trap for arrest. Okay it has been done, but it's still more original than a supposedly professional sensible woman letting her loins think for her to the point of being okay with a killer"

"Do you think people can really have adventures like that, though?"

"I'd like to... I'd like to think a clever woman can use that cleverness to outwit evil folk"

And for just a moment, her eyes turn almost avian

Jess holds her eyes with her own gaze. "And there are evil folks." she says with absolute certainty.

"Always " A nod "But there are good ones too. Give me a Samwise and I don't fear the Dark Lords nearly so much. Strange as that seems eh?"

"It makes -perfect- sense to me." Jess glances around; still people near?

"How long are you here for?"

"Two more weeks shooting I hear but you never know when there will be a reshoot"

And the area seems to have lightened a bit. Some folks left the laundrymat nearby

"Well. Sometime if you want to see the real Tijuana, you're welcome to have my phone number." she offers.

"I'd like that, Jessica, thanks" SHe pulls out her phone

"Sure." They exchange numbers. Jessica glances around one last time; coast is still mostly clear?

Yup

Jess offers her hand.

and she takes it

She takes more than just Jessica's hand; there's Glamour in the shake, as well.

And then just like that, the glamour explodes
