one problem with this city is that crime is sadly typical

The young woman in question is a year or two younger than Jessica looks (Time in freehold has been good to her) and understandibly shaken.. at first she was ready to run from Jessica too, but seeing her rescuer is a woman, calms and rattles off in spanish "Holy shit that was close I thought I was dead"

"We have you now, you'll be ok. Are you injured?" Jessica answers in the same language.

"Just bruises..." She says grips around her wrists. She assembles her slightly torn clothes and puts them back then she says "ARe you an American? If you are, your accent is very good"

"I am, and thank you."

"Oh god.. what was I thinking taking a short cut like that. Stupid..."

"This is not your fault." Jessica says firmly as she offers the woman her flannel overshirt "It will never be your fault."

The woman takes then nods "Not my fault. Thank you. Thank you for that"

"Keep saying that part outloud; not your fault."

"You're not injured? Do you want to go to a hospital?"

"Not my fault.." A breath "No No. I just want to go home. Gracias."

"Police?" she suggests gently.

"No no, not around this town. Half of them aren't worth anything"

"Alright. My friend and I will walk you home." apparently the hospital and police are negotiable but this point is not.

"If you're sure?" She says

"I am sure." firmly.

And the woman goes along... Coy rejoins them, saying to Jessica "They've been discouraged"

He grunt nods ("Tell you the details later")

Jess nods, understanding. They form an escort/guard for the woman.

The woman's name is Caralyna and they soon learn where she lives. THey make sure she's safe

Once it is just them, Coy says "She seems to be less shaken than I thought. Brave woman"

"Seems to be." Jess agrees.

"I laid three out, and tied them up. The police are on their way, but I'm not sure they'll contain them long"

"I left the others where they dropped. I was more worried about her. And they weren't going anywhere."

A nod "Not with how you hit them. " A pause "I know it's a bit cruel, but I may have broken an arm or two. Even if they get out, they'll not be in condition to have their way with a woman for a while"
