Hours passed, and Coy was out of the healing pool, ready to report to work, but he still looked pale and weaker than normal. And Constance would have NONE Of it

Nor would Jessica.

He does at least report "I'm on the mend, honestly" /"He's really not" Constance says jaw set "Not enough anyway. But I can return to scribe duties"

"Neither of you is going anywhere. Stay and rest and heal." She tells both of them.

"But your Excellency" Constance seems surprised "I can work"/"HA " Coy blurts at the woman he loves, a bit petty/She sniffs at him, but then he takes her hand as she loses her grip on any mad about it and says "Thank you, COuntess. if something does arise where you need a scribe let me know."

"I will, but we'll make do. When Coy is ready to work, then you're ready to work. For now, though. Rest." She nods and heads out.

She bows. Coy gives a troll salute. And off Jessica goes

Otem joins her. "I thought it best none of us patrol alone"

"You're probably right. Can you be spared here?"

"I can" A nod

She nods. "Let's go." And they do.

The patrol is uneventful , rather nice actually. Light breeze, glorious weather

And while Jessica appreciates that, she has trouble enjoying it. So much to do.....

As they move, chimerical music plays... 'lalalala' in a sweet romantic way

Otem stops "Do you hear that?"

"Yes?" she frowns and looks around.

Fluttering after them, two pink chimerical doves with heart shaped fannies seem to be spreading soft light along with their gentle tunes about the two

Otem blinks "Jessica? Are these yours?"

"No." flatly "As long as they keep to themselves, they're fine. It's the wrong season for those."

"I think they're following US" A frown "Perhaps we should bring Squab home to your cooks?"

"If this is a pooka's prank...." she mutters, on the edge of angry.

"It does not seem to be the style of my people but one never knows who might be a trickster"

He makes a gesture, and there is a rumbling of thunder, sending the birds fleeing

She blinks. "You can do that?"

A blush "Some weather magic, yes. I've been practicing"

"Good for you." she says, and they continue on.

"What of your 'arts'? I am curious, but it also occurs to me knowig each other's medicines might serve us well"

"Oh. Uh, in general or me specifically?"

"You specifically since you are here"

"Ok. I can effect things made of the elements; earth, air, water, fire. We call that Art Primal. I can trick the mind and senses of others; that's Chicanery. I can move things with magic; that's Legerdemain. And I can use magic to travel and effect movement; that's Wayfare. Of course, that's pretty simplified as an explaination."

A nod of approval "Some minor skycraft as you saw, a little wayfare as well, some spirit link"

"I'm not familiar with that last one."

"It is... practiced by Nunnehi of all tribes to some degree. We don't share it save rarely"

"Sorry, didn't mean to pry."

"No you didn't. I was the one who brought up sharing the medicines we each work" He assures

"Ok, good."

"Have there been any incursions on your people's lands?"

"Of course, the balor you replaced tried to seize our lands. Many died"

"I meant more recently."

"Since you came to power? Only one attempt and it was not from this city"

"Good. Not even mainland Nunehi?"

"we had not allied with you then, so they had little reason. They did try to recruit us"

"It was.. tempting, they spoke of the evil of Concordia"

"I'm very glad it didn't go that way." Soberly.

"As am I. I have seen the truth, that not all trolls seek to conquer us, restrain us for their shining host masters"

She sighs. "There are plenty of common-Kith who hold a modernist point of view. They believe nobility and the monarchy should be done away with. No masters, no slaves."

A tilt of his head "Diego tells me you would be a...reformist, that you wish to keep the system that is intact, but to expand it to non sidhe and give more input from the common side"

She nods. "I suppose I am, although to be honest I don't think about it very much. My mother is a baroness, my father and sisters are knights... I can't go too hard against the system."

"Sisters? A pause "There is another besides Siv? Please tell me she is not twins"
