Kourtney's training proceeds apace. Maria and Roseta do not shirk their own duties, but they do get a bit more free time in some areas and they concede for such a young wilder, and a troll at that, Kourtney excells.

They speak in Spanish to each other "Talented young people make me sick" Maria jokes

"Oh now, she still has a lot to learn" Roseta smiles

"I know, but at this rate she'll be as good at 18 as I was at 25" Maria shakes her head

Today, Kourtney is preparing thick cold milkshakes, home made, makes the stuff from Dairy queen look only so so. Flavors include Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla of course. But there's also Blueberry and Peanut Butter flavored ones

And, of course, Jessica is back to work, but Kourtney does pop in "Chi.. I mean, Countess? What flavor of Milkshake would you like?" She tells her the options

"Please, Jessica is fine." she invites "Strawberry?"

"Sure thing, Jessica" No artificial stuff in this, the girl must have used fresh strawberries in the construction

"Thank you. It's very good."

"One of my specialties, I'm told" SHe says pleased "But Roseleta and Maria let me do the treats. Later I'll work on getting Churros right" By right, she means Maria and Roseta's way "Thank you again for letting me train here, Jessica. "

"Of course, Kourtney. I hope you have enjoyed your time here, and will return when you can."

"Thank you, ma'am but... Once I'm Hearth I... probably won't be able to travel much. " resigned

"Why not?"

"I'll be expected to direct the kitchen, handle the budget, and so on. Can't leave home when my duty keeps me near bale and kitchen. Not often anyway"

Jessica nods. "Yes. I can understand that."

"Imagine you do. I mean, you have a whole city to look out for.. and a bigun."

"Bigun?"

A blush "Big one. I mean, that's a lot of ground to protect, lots of people"

"Oh! Right, sorry... it's a lot, but I have help."

"You'd have to.. let me know if you want another milkshake:"

"I think this will do me, thank you."

She smiles a little.

A nod and smile back "Then I best get to handing out milkshakes to the kids. I'm told just one each or it'll ruin their supper"

"Less than that, there might be a riot." Jess agrees.

"I got younger cousins" She agrees knowingly, and heads off to feed the horde

She sits and enjoys her milkshake.

DEE licious!

Diego comes by, with a milkshake of his own , a slurp "Any chance we can keep Kourtney for another day or two? If she can make these wine flavored I am in her debt"

"I have invited her to stay but it's her call."

"Ah, she won't change her mind. Trolls don't change their mind, they just change speeds" A slurp

Eyebrow.

"No good, Jessica. I happen to know you like me enough to let me live" A sip, then "Ah, I do have something of concern, but it's more my problem than yours"

"Hold on a moment." she sets the drink down.

"Let me shift speeds here......."

"Ok, yes. If you'd like to tell me, I'm listening."

"Is something wrong with Nancy? She's been assisting me dligently, my right arm, but lately she's working herself TOO hard and seems to be neglecting the joyful side of satyrhood. Like I said, more my concern than yours as I'm a fellow satyr to her and she helps me usually. But her work life balance is out of sync, particularly for our kith"

"You should ask her."

"I did... she didn't talk about it, wouldn't" A frown "Which is not like her. " A scratch of his chin, he looks troubled

"With respect, then, I won't either."

"I've put my hoof into a warm and soft subject, haven't I?" He asks, not seeming offended, but rather seeking just a bit more clarity on the boundaries

"Probably."

"I say that not to be mysterious but... I don't know all the details. Just mine."

"Ah" he nods "Well, if you are willing to tell me about your details, I'm here. If you don't, I'll help Nancy some other way"

"Thank you, Diego. "

She stands. "I think I have patrol coming up.... did you need me for anything else?"

"No. I'll hold down the fort, so to speak"

"Diego... thank you. For all you do." Jess nods and heads out.

A smile at that "Happy to stand with you, Jessica"

And out she goes

On patrol.
