Jessica finishes a meeting and instructions with the defense forces for the County and heads out on patrol herself.

Luis waves to her as she heads out

Jessica patrols... and looks for trouble. After the blood bath of the explosion at the drug warehouse, there's always the chance of nigghtmare chimera or evenn nervousa risingg

Jess acknowledges the wave and keeps her eyes peeled for trouble.

As she wanders on patrol, she moves past a certain tattoo parler.

.... and keeps on moving, unless there are signs of Fae in trouble there. As she would anywhere else.

Jessica MIGHT see, from her side view, him working on someone's back- A work of art, a butterfly in a thunderstorm... or she might not notice at all or even look that directiton even a bit.

Regardless, she keeps patroling...

and to her surrpise, a chimera comes up to her!

She is on guard but not attacking as she watches the Chimera.

It clambers up to her with surprising speed given it's ... part turtle? "Help , help.. you must help Isabeau, please! She can't see me anymore I know. I realize she doesn't need me, I get that, but please?"

Her voice is pleading, eyes tearful

"Who is Isabeau, and who is she to you?"

"She was my child" An odd thing for her to say "But she's also a daughter of eve... oh please hurry... " and the thing turns and scuttles down an alley way

Still on guard against ambush or falsity, she follows.

Paranoia isn't a mental disease in her line of work, it's just smart! She follows and keeps her guard up. But there is no attack, no threat.

But she does come to one building and notes someone on a fire escape... but it's not an attack, it's a teenage girl, and she's tying up a noose.

"Don't DO it , Isabeau!" The chimera laments but of course the teenager can't hear her

Jess quickly observes the girl's exterior; dress, expression, scars, tattoos, hair style, etc.

Looks on the poor side, her expression is one of grim resolve and unremitting sorrow, and there is a bruise on her cheek

That said, conventional would be the word? Or conservative in garb anyway

The teenager doesn't see her, not yet. Working on that knot

"Mija." she uses a word to connote a family relationship, older to younger, and continues in Spanish "That won't work."

She jumps back and looks "Hey, this is non of your business, Gringa" she tries to sound belligerent but her cheeks fill with the blush of shame

"Come down here. I'll show you a way to leave this life behind if you want it."

The mortal girl looks at her , "If you're a pimp, forget it. I got warned about you guys.."

Jessica chuckles. "No, not a pimp."

"You don't even KNOW me" Isabeau say

"Your name is Isabeau." the gringa says with absolute certainty. "If I can tell you something about yourself no one else knows, will you come down? I'm tall, but I'm getting a crick in my neck."

"You ... " At the mentionn of her name "You know my mother?"

"No." Jessica says with abolute honesty.

that actually seems to relax the girl and she takes up the challenge "Fine... tell me something about mysef no one else knows"

the chimera has been pacing below, helpless to help Isabeau but grateful to Jessica for trying

"You had an invisible childhood friend. You haven't thought about her in a while. Part turtle, part giraffe. She loves you very much, still."

The teenage girl nearly falls off the fire escape

But steadies herself "How did you know about Odd-zia?"

"That's ME!" Odd-zia beams! "She remembers, even if she no longer believes!"

Isabeau comes down, slowly

Jessica smiles too. "It's good you remember her. Come down. Carefully."

And she drops, Jessica might nneed to catch her

((No noose around her neck, right!??!?))

Jess steps forward to catch.... it'll hurt, as a mortal, but she's fit enough and is in good condition.

(She was assemblinng, but had not stuck her head through)

Fortunately, the girl let herself hang first, so the distance of drop was reduced, and Jessica only grunts a little "Sorry," Isabeau explains as she drops into her arms "You okay?"

Jess nods. "I'm fine. I work out. You're not fine. You don't have to tell me why you were out on that fire escape to kill yourself. Just tell me if you want out of whatever situation you're in."

"I ... that was my way out" She says
