"Is.. uhm.. how long is that going to be a thing?" She asks concerned

"It's not a thing." firmly.

"The way your back stiffens as you walk by his place, the way he looks torn o whether to be all stoic or approach you? That's not a thing?"

"It's a thing if he makes it a thing. It's a thing if people make it a thing. It's not a thing for me. We're on a break. I actually -want- a break. Which it won't be if people make it a thing."

"Ah, so I'm not helping by asking" She nods "Sorry, Jess. I like you both so .. well, I want to 'help' but I should leave that to the boggans"

"I don't need or want any help, thanks, and if this chair is an excuse to put me in the area I might shove it up....." she trails off muttering.

"Gotcha, they mean well, just keep telling yourself that"

"Hmmph."

"Yeah, a brerak doesn' work if the break is all you think of"

"And it's not a break if you're constantly pushed in the other person's direction."

"maybe tell folks you've got a date with someone else so no thanks? You don't actually HAVE to have a date, but maybe they'll get a hint?"

"Maybe I don't have to lie." she points out "Maybe I can just say no thanks and leave it at that."

"It's your life" She aggrees, in a hands up palms out offer of peaceful coexistence, "I was just thinking it might be a peaceful out"

"Thank you, Nancy. I know, and I appreciate it."

"Yeah, ohkay so enough about 'the break' .. how ADORABLE are Tweak's kids ? I mean, Little Boseman is so cute, and Shuri's growing up so quick..."

Jess nods. "Tweak and Necropsis are doing well, also."

"Yeah, if only she weren't an ego destroying tech tyrant aand he weren'tt hateful in everythingg he says pimping on the side"

Jessica looks sideways at Nancy.

"Okay okay... other than that, they're GREAT but they're So MEAN"

"They..... can take some getting used to." she agrees.

"How long have you known Tweak anyway?"

"Um." she thinks "Well. I met her here, just after we liberated Fenix from the previous baroness. But turns out she knew my dad years and years ago. Her, and Necropsis."

"Small magical world" She nods

She nods. "I have the impression that Dad figured they'd.... um, Forgotten or even been killed by now. I think he likes that they're still together and have a family."

"You're dad's a bit of a sentimentalist isn't he?" A smile, not a mocking one but it shows she approves of the trait

"I think so, yes."

"He sounds cool." She says "Only seen him maybe once but he sounds cool"

"He's a hero."

"Apparently it runs in the family" a grin

and the door opens as they come into Fenix hold with a big ass chair

Jessica carries it straight in to the ladies.

"Oh gracious, senorita" they say "Gracious. We did no expect you to be back so soon"

"No reason to linger." she says firmly and perhaps even tersely before heading away again to rejoin Nancy.

They look PARTICULARLY innocent

a bit too particularly

"Hmph."

Nancy awaits her and offers a drink, coffee most like

"Thank you." more graciously.

"It's okay. Hey, sorry if I contributed to being on your back " She says "I.. don't always think things through."

"You didn't -know- where they were sending me, did you?"

"No " She admits "But I was going to pry and try to .." She makes air quotes with her fingers "Help" a sigh "So I feel like a jerk now. I just wanted to shop! And we did get other things" And they did. Nancy has bags of her own with hard won prizes from the locals "Hey, that Fashion place you've supported has some GREAT Panuchos"

"You were, but we talked and you -heard- me and you stopped. That's important. And we -did- shop! Glad you liked them."

"Oh yeah, hey how lucky it is we founnd that troll sized towel too" She pulls out the big one! Jessica does not spoil herself often but.. come on, troll sized towel!

"The hold provides perfectly useful towels....." she says (again)

"Okay, on this, I am calling you on your bull... I know your eyes lit up when you saw this towel" She holds it up, "And I know you HATE the fact for you, a boggan or even satyr sized towel is basically a dish rag"

A shrug. "Used to it."

"right, now you don't havee to be" She hands the towel over "Besides, it's supporting a local bussiness. Tell yourself it's not just a luxury, it's a duty or nnobise obligge or what not"

She nods and takes the towel.
