"You can get that sent?"

"Top of the pile" she assures

"Thank you. Everything going alright here?"

"Yes, everything's fine I.." She frowns as she gets a text "Pardon me" She takes a peek "Everything is horrible"

"What happened?"

"It would appear there are some ice storms and threats... the DeBukes are asking for aid in freeing people"

Jess nods. "I'll find.... actually, can you have someone find Diego and ask him to meet me. I need Eleanor too, and Nancy and probably Rosa or Maria. Maybe others, but that will do. Can you get someone to bring them to the Balefire?"

"Surely" she says

"Thank you." And Jessica's heading there now.

AN ALL CALL GOES OUT to those named

Diego is the first to show... Nancy at his hooved heels

"Diego, the DeBukes have called for aid, cold weather issues."

"Constance said they need help freeing people and mentioned ice storms."

"I'll get the warm weather gear, we don't have much but we have some. Now blankets we have plenty of, many warm wool ones"

"Can we spare them from our own operations?"

A sigh "I can get more blankets... by trading some wine"

"Let's take stock first."

"What about people?"

"I mean, who can we send?"

"Coy will go, obviouslY" Diego says "He is a DeBuke. I imagine Buce will brave the cold. We could get a sizable squad if you ask for one thane from each hold plus volunteers"

"Can someone get Coy, please?"

"Constance?" she looks to see if the scribe joined them.

She nods , doesn't look happy, but moves to do so

"No, Constance, stay. Someone get Coy. Constance, can you send an order to the other freehold? One thane each, and ask for volunteers?"

She nods and writes ones

"Thank you. Diego and Nancy, if you don't mind, please get an inventory of what we can -spare-. And I'd like to prepare to receive guests as well."

"Not a problem" Nancy says

"And we'll have food, hot stew I think"

"Somewhere they can rest, clean up, get warm.... Ok. We've done this before. Let's get moving." Jessica nods.

And they break, like a well oiled machine. Jessica remembers the earlier years when they were lucky to know what they were doing, let alone how to do it. They were well intentioned but often stumbling. Now, they're moving and acting like experts.

She will take some time to explain to Elle why they are doing what they are doing, and give her a few tasks to do as well.

"So I check in and make sure everyone is doing okay, and Ariel hands out juice boxes?"

"Yes. And if there are children, you could be friends and help them that way."

"Of course! And make sure they feel safe."

Jessica nods. "Yes."
