While Donkey, or is it Burrito? Is not the most energetic kitten, the little gray thing is not just lazy. The cat is a thinker, where other cats are leaping high and failing to get to the high points...the gray knows that if one leaps to this spot low, then that spot, and THEN gets a running jump.. one can get up on a book case edge almost as far up as mama.

Salma is watching and silently encouraging the little kitten that she has taken to calling a portmanteau. If anyone looks her way, suddenly she is back in her book. "Silly Donquito."

Constance looks over "How on earth did that little cat get there? Marion can reach it, but the other's can't jump that high"

"Maybe he bribed Flex to carry him up, traded away his milk rations."

"But the sun hits there in the afternoon nice, doesn't it?"

"It does..." She says "mmm ..and that one isn't going to pester mamacita marion near as much as the tabby or calico"

"No, the adventuresome tabby and brave calico must be out running about and doing things, while the little donkey stays here to learn."

"Perhaps little donkeys are very very smart to know where the knowledge is" Constance gives a fond look to Salma

"I found the tabby."

Ellie enters the library, said tabby climbing from her arms to her shoulder.

"Or did the tabby find you?"

"...well..."

"I think you girls have picked your favorite kittens, or vice versa" Constance says "How some folks can be suckers for animal manipulation is a mystery to me.. fortunately I have my books for company and don't need pets. but more power to you"

She turns to her own book again, and reaches out without thinking about it to stroke Marian as she does so

Ellie smiles at this.

Ariel comes in, petting on the calico

“Did you learn how to shoot your arrows again today, Ariel?”

“Or how not to?”

"Yeess.." Cautious and a light blush "Hit the right targets"

A grin heard on her voice, for all that it’s hidden behind a book.

Ariel says "I have decided something.." Declaring "Salma.. you need to declare the gray your favorite so Ellie can take the tabby and I can take the calico and Holger can be happy saving the tux. I'm trying to be patient but it's making me bonkers"

"Ariel!"

"Well, it is" Stubborn look

"I mean..."

"she loves little that little gray burito. IT would be wrong to take that kitten from her"

"It won't happen." Chin-jut.

"It won't" Agreement and a look at Salma

“He lives here with his mamacita.”

"So do you. You live here."

Constance watches from the corner of her eye.

“That is also true.” She allows, turning a page.

"So... is Burrito your favorite?"

“No, my favorites are churros.” A glance up at the shelf where the little grey was last seen.

Burrito makes his way down a bit

then mews adorably for a lift the rest of the way

“He is quiet though. And behaves better than your hooligans.” A tsk! At that and she goes over to reach up and retrieve him.

“See, he makes a liar of me.”

"Maybe Jessica will let all four of them stay."

"She will" A voice from the door way

“We cannot call him burrito though. There are too many caps of roja. If you must call him anything, which is silly because he does not come when you call, you can call him Donquito. Burrito is a little but to but also a snack. Donquito is almost a little donkey, but I do not think it sounds tasty.”

"Oh, okay. Don Quito."

Ash says "Pardon.." Entering "The countess says the kittens are staying with you girls"

And she blinks over at the doorway. Kitten in one hand, book in the other, she still tries to gather skirts for a proper curtesy.

"So see, Salma? You can keep him."

"Or he can keep you" Ash says but she nods back to Salma so she can stop and not hurt herself

“He must learn to bow properly.” A finger wagged at the kitten.

"YES, so admit that you love the gray one more than aardvarks and astronaughts or something and we can move on loving our.. ack.." Ariel says as the Calico climbs her

“I will admit.. he does not bother me much. He sleeps more so I can get work done, and doesn’t pat paws at my sewing. He is the most well behaved of the gatitos.”

A somewhat flustered look to Ariel as she keeps asking for a straight answer.

"He is very well behaved. Well then. I chose the tabby. Ramona, the Pest."
