(Rewinding) Night of the Troubadour party... (We will be vague while Rahne catches up ) , and Tweak sees Tidemarch making a winding path towards Elias Hazard. That furker.. just because Jessica didn't pick Hazard he thinks he can move in?

"Hey...hey..." she tugs on the arm of a Fenix staff boggan. "Stall him fer me." And she makes a far less winding path in Hazard's direction.

THe boggan nods and offers drinks into the face of the Baron

And Elias is collecting his instruments, some of which seem modular

"Kid!" Tweak accosts him. "Hey, you got some shit goin'." Definite tone of approval, and she gives the modular arrangement of instruments a nod. "You been at this long?"

"Ever since I was able to bang two pipes together.. yeah" He bows. She notices he's got the court shit down, not that matters in some places but he's got it down "I make my own gear, most of it with a steampunk angle as you heard and saw... but it's the playing that turns my crank you know? Well, maybe you don't know, lot of other nockers think the music is secondary but I aint' apologizing for being different"

"Welll, I ain' never played, but me an' my man, we like a good beat." She looks him over measuringly. "What 'bout teachin'? You ever do that?"

"Teaching to sing and play? Never for long .. I mean, once I tried to get in this girl's pants by teaching her to hold my bassoon with the fun knob... had to make a bassoon because of that."

"Now, how to craft an instrument? Furk I know more than most masters... not a major area.. no 'music instruments guild' ya know? "

Tweak snorts at the image of that romantic approach. "Well, I be thinkin' sing, play, build...any of it. See, I got me a li'l girl, an'....well, th' kid be sharp but she gettin' at th' age she gettin' bored sometimes. She be gettin' all th' aerospace stuff she want. Mebbe try somepin new, y'hear?"

"Plus, ain' no reason a place like Sky Hook can't branch out. Maybe...huh...we got some navigation issues...maybe you put a diff'rent spin on th' problem...." she trails off, considering.

"Echo-location, shit like that...."

Elias says "Hey, music skills help math skills so I see why you'd want that.. .as for Echolocation.." He snorts "Got it."

As if it were easy as pie

She smirks. "You ever worked at a local?"

"Sec" He scrambles into a bag "Where's I Put that littile..." as he searches, his rear kind of facing her and the room without him thinking on i t, he says "yeah yeah, but they always want me to stop playing and work on building. And building isn't what I want to do so I tend to scramble. It's why I'm so furking damaged socially.. I had to learn how to talk nice for the thin skins of the world." AHAH "Here we go." He pulls out what looks a ran stick with dozens of small light bulbs and outward facing discs all over it. He handds it to her "Jerk this to the side hard once or twice. " THere are places she can put her hands without getting them caught in the discs or lights

Tweak takes the item...takes a few moments to look it over, examine the welds and gaskets with a critical eye...then she holds it as instructed and gives it two good shakes sideways.

A rattling 'shakksa shakkah ' sound comes out of it, as it rattles in her hands .. if it's a rainstick it's got some kind of hollow tin spheres in it bouncing against harder steel bearings. But the sound cascades all around.. knocking some folks who are not prepared like a strong wind... then the sound hits the walls, people... and comes back.. and the lights click on... some a weak ass 20 watt others others 100 "Soft targets green, hard targets red.... distance affects the brightness of the light"

It uses the sound rereturn to measure density AND distance?

"I made it so I wouldn't run into things in the dark." He says

Her eyes widen for a moment, but then she gives a critical nod. "I guess that don' suck. An' yeah, stubbin' toes ain' nuthin' less 'n hell, am I right? So...." She hands the item back to him, perhaps a touch reluctantly. "If you lookin' for a gig, we might could squeeze you in." A nonchalant shrug. "Maybe."

"Yeah?" Interested, then quickly shrugging "Well, I am good. But you're not going to stick me into making instruments without letting me spend even more time using them are you? I'm a Musicaoligist who prefers FIELD research... before an audiance"

"Well...gotta tell ya, we inta more hardcore shit, me an' Crawley...an' li'l miss thang be dancin' up a storm when th' beat drop...but I gotta tell yah, yer shit ain' suck. So yes, we find ways t'get ya in a workshop an' on a stage, both."

"YOu name any genre of music, I can steam punk the shit out of it.. " Confidence of a nocker born "Look ah.. I still get to look at the space stuff if I go right?" eyes...just a bit dreamy.

A quick perk of interest in her expression. "Why you care 'bout that shit?" Testing.

"Because the stars and the reaching for em have been worth making music ABOUT. You ever hear the mixes of Sympony of Science by Melodysheep? .. HEck, Major TOm to Ground Control might be soft but it's got heart... and why do I care? Maybe because I'm not an unimaginative fuzznugget with less vision than a pet rock ulike far too many dwerps out there who can't THINK past the nose on their face"

He snorts

She gives a toothy grin. "C'mon, kid. I gonna show you yer new home."

He grins a bit "Hey, you'll be glad you're making me your Troubadour. I always tell folks, you want science in your music? Risk a Hazard!"

She let's out a bray of a laugh.

The Kittens are progressing faster than most folks expected. Maybe being born so close to Beltaine helped, or maybe it's the hold and love... but they're socializing nicely and seem a week ahead of what folks expect in manyways.

The Tabby now clambers up and over Azul despite the difficulty, when she needs to.

The Derpy one almost walked into Azul's open mouth when the dog slept, causing the poor great dane to back up, and ending up in a similar opening of a path.

"We can't just keep calling them their colors." Eleanor dangles a bobble of yarn over Tabby's head.

"But what DO we call em?" Ariel says says rolling a small ball past the Calico

"I dunno. Maybe book names?"

"Like how Ramona gets in trouble?"

"Maybe... " A snicker "Are you going to calling that one Ramona, or are you calling her Trouble?"

The grey kitten has called up in Salma's lap even as she reads.

A giggle. "Trouble DOES fit..."
