Holger hunches over the book, and sighs. It is hard, English

"Perro.. Perro is dog. Gatta is cat." Slowly. He feels like an idiot. He hopes none of the girls catch him like this. His pride is a fragiel thing... and he'd hate for them to know he's stupid.

And he tries.

Azul's tail thumps. Holger is doing so good!

Holger smiles,and sets his book down long enough to give Azul a hug and manages to say "Good Dog." in heavily accented English

LICK.

Wag!

And a laugh

A drooly head rests in the troll-boy's lap.

The book is relcaimed with one hand, but the other scratches a dog's head

Thump-thump-thump, happy tail.

"Now, Azul, your name in English would probably be BLUE... this is an important color"

A thought occurs and he goes over the colors again. He must find the English word for Purple. The little Countess will be pleased he thinks.

Blue IS an important color, the hounds big dark eyes seem to agree.

Holger loses track of time, learning and dogs are good for that.

Very good, yes!

Then he rises, "hasta luego Azul"

The troll might, eventually, feel eyes on his back.

Then he turns startled by that feeling

PURPLE eyes. "What... Que tu... doing?"

"Leyendo. Su excelencia." He bows, a slight blush.

"Leyendo." She repeats before traipsing over to see.

"OH! Reading! Like Salma!"

A blush "Si" Then then he admits, "Salma es muy intelligente"

"Oh, si. She is." She looks at the book.

Holger tries to hide it behind his back but then realizes it's OBVIOUS he's doing that, so brings it forward. The title reads Como ingles

"Oh! I am learning.. um... yo.. aprendo?... espanol!"

"Si, Ingles" A blush then "I am..learning.. English like you are learning Spanish" Slowly and he actually peeks in the book now and then

Clearly plucking words from it, and referencing

"Muy bien!" She beams.

"We could practice! Um... ustedes aprendo? Both?" She points between the two of them.

"No soy inteligente" He says with a blush.

"Si, tu es intelidente!" Adamant!

"No no," He tries to explain then sorts through the book, and reads out loud slowly "I am am not smart."

Then he blushes at repeating the am, shows how well he reads. Well, that proved it. He's a moron.

"No. Tu es intelligente."

"You ARE smart!"

Holger looks a bit lost "Cometí muchos errores... ah.. mistakes?" Then he sighs "Si, we will.. learn juntos together"

"Oh, I make lots of mistakes!"

A smile at that

"What are you studying? Are there pictures?"

He shows the book he has, and pictures of animals and colors with the English words for them, but most of the book is in spanish "Tu?" looking at her book

"I don't have my book with me..."

"But I can tell you pictures. Look, cat and dog, and bird and turtle..."

She points.

"Yo .." A pause "I.. teach you.. Spanish words ?" A counter offer and he motions her to sit down next to him and they will share what the pictures in this, and other books nearby are called

"Oh! Si, si!"

She sits down next to him, excited to exchange words.

"Perro" "Dog" "Gatta" "Cat." And of course, it's an O ending if it's a male cat. Where as Dog can be either female or male. it's a major difference ,but then again, English does have differences too. Count is not Countess. So maybe it's matter of English doing it, just less often.
