Jessica's return with Coy has the DeBuke asking "You want us to station a guard there? Or maybe get a crossbar to block it?"

"A guard, and I'll ask Symons to create an alarm."

"Good, because as much as I love my own family, I like the distance now and then," Coy says "Don't tell Clem I said that."

"So I figured you felt maybe the same"

"More worried about a bad actor coming through."

"That's a fair point. " Coy says "in a world with illusion magics especially"

"So I want an alarm, but not barring the door."

"I'm sure we can put a bell on it at the very least, maybe ask the concortium for a fancy one if you like an advanced alarm," Coy says.

"That's why I will talk with Symond. "

"Well, she's down in the forge workshop now I imagine" he nods

"No time like the present." Jessica agrees, and goes seek Symond.

The great double doors to the smithy/forge appear to be locked, but there that large door knocker to use to announce

And so she does.

Sound of a buzz saw or some sort winding down, then clack click clunk as the doors open "Yeah? Oh!" Symond is covered in sweat, wearing safety goggles and gloves over her usual attire, "What can I do for you?"

The once scrawny girl has, despite time in freeholds, bloomed into a real wilder. Oh she's not a woman yet by mortal standards, but her seeming is set and she's getting there.

"Hi. Settling in here?"

"Yeah, furk, boss had her finger prints all over it, and she'll probably crap a brick to see some of the changes I'm doing but you know, I gotta work here. "

Jessica nods agreement. "The Forge is yours, now. Listen, we have a new trod in the Freehold; I'd like to get an alarm on it."

"Huh, I THOUGHT the steam came on strong in a gust earlier... but we've got to be a secondary recipient not a territory or it would have been more"

Symond takes her goggles off, "You want an alarm? Anything more than that?"

"For now, an alarm, but if you want to come take a look?"

"Yeah..and what kind of alarm? " She follows locking the workshop behind her with a familiar looking key "YOu want it to just toot or ring, or you want it to send little chimerical messangers to your throne? What?"

"I think messengers and some kind of general Freehold-wide alarm? What do you think?"

She shows Symond the door.

"Yeah... I can ring something easy on this...mm maybe with a digitized fluggle horn"

"Maybe."

"You want it to take pictures or count people? "

"Can we set it to allow some people automatically, and hold others for approval?"

"Oh designer works... huh, password would be easy, but actual recognition and approval... .I might need help. Furk it can be done though "

Then a thought "I could probably use a drop of your blood so family members slide in right easy!"

"Um......." reluctant.

Symond misunderstands, "Look, if it's about the blood magic, this isn't sacrifice like your heart.. it's a drop. really, I cut down on the old aztec methods ...a lot."

"Maybe there's another way?"

"You're squemish about blood?"

"Not as such.... I don't know if the people we want to allow access would agree to blood."

"Feh.. you trolls. You make things harder than they need to be.... I'll find something else then."

"Thanks. Until then, I'll post a guard."

"Yeah sure..." She nods and gets to work

Jessica moves on.

Jessica sees Phobos has taken a spot by the new door, guarding it already

"And thank you, Phobos. You know where it leads?"

"Yeah, Jersey"

She nods. "Ok." And she heads to the Balefire.
