While the balefire is fine... all the lights in Fenix hold dim as the workshop draws on EXCESS glamour for the work they're doing.

Many complaints through out the hold...

"What the hell?"

"Trying to cook here!"

"Bite me, bitches! I gots a priority task from Bluetooth!" Tweak's in pure creative fervor and doesn't look up from her work when the complaints are brought to her.

"My wine!"

"His whine," Symond snorts...

and with a shimmering glow, the flat disco disc thing is...done.

Behind her goggles, Tweak blinks rapidly at the product of their work. She switches a couple of filters, peering at the surface from different angles, frowning critically.

"Placements on Sectors AB and BA good.." Symond confirms from one side

"Yeahhh...." Hesitant optimism. "You see any waver on the flange side there? Or that be jus' my angle?"

"We got a shimmer but I don't know if I'd call it a waver."

"A shimmer. Mmph." Tweak sits back and flips the filters off her goggles, then props them up on her forehead. She glares at the shield-shaped thing for a good, long moment.

"Maybe if we glazed the refractors?"

"Maybe. Or....maybe that meant to be there. Might be a necessary warble in th' design arc." She moves her hand in the air to mimic a hilly road. "Might...huh...might could be it accelerate th' effect, if it angled right."

She drops her hand, then looks to Symond. "Time t' test this bitch, Greasemonkey."

"Huh..." Then a nod "Right. SO you have fun with that" Joking mostly

"Nuh-uh. Grab that, an' follow me." With a nod to the shield, she tromps out of the Forge and down to the ritual room.

And Symond follows

When they get down there, Tweak puts her goggles back in place. "Gimme dat." She grabs the shield. "Stand over there," she indicates with a jut of her chin.

And Symond puts on her own safety goggles an goes over as directed

"A'ight. First, th' control test. You gots any small hurt you c'n throw at me? I ain' powerin' up this thing yet, so we jus' see if'n it get through on its own."

"Yeah...furk sure, and I do It wrong.. promotion !" She grins

Symond takes a breath... and starts to mutter "Fair and Height, burning a bit bright...first degree...flying free"

and she spits. A guttering candle flame worth of pyretics launches towards her mentor

A sneer at the promotion talk. "You do it wrong, you get to 'splain to Crawley."

She braces.

Tweeak might wince, but it is only candle strong so it's 'ouch' rather htan truly dangerous

A slight singe

"Fuckin' bitch!" She shakes her fingers out where the burn had stung the most. Then nods satisfaction. "A'ight...now...hang on..." She concentrates and presses her thumb over a contact point, focusing on sending a bit of her own glamour into the Disco Displacer (TM) to activate it. Its surface shimmers as the little sequin-like surfaces ripple briefly. "Do that shit again."

"You burned yourself worse on your tools" And that'sp robably true... "Calling me a bitch ... fine... oughtarosta" But despite her own griping, the next 'flame' is no stronger than the first. But this time.. as it tries to strike the grump, instead... the disc/shield thing sucks it in.. glows a bit, and a two count later spats it back out, perhaps a little less powerful but hey

Symond nearly has to put her hair out "Hey"

A growing smirk. "Yeah, a'ight...now...figger you suss'd out that whatever hurt you doin' come back atcha...now try t' throw a fix at me."

She takes a bit of dross out, "Let the sun rise!" and snaps

A woosh of glamour meant to patch and fix

and...this time it sucks into the disc but... takes a THREE beat.. glows..

and the burn on Tweak's voile /clothing heals up.

"Holy shit..it works" Symond says

Tweak looks down, inspects her clothes....her fingertips....her grin grows wider...but all she does is nod and say, "Fuckin' proof of concept. Start up th' goddam production line. I go tell B."

"An' hey, start workin' up th' paperwork for the BesDin!" she says as she hands the Disco Displacer to Symond before heading out of the ritual room.

"Yeah yeah... " she says "You know, we still don't know if it can take multiple hits.. but even NOBLES have to have the brains not to waste too much after too many tries right?"

"No shit," Tweak pauses. "An' we do know that it only take one power-up t' get th' thing to work more 'n once. The delay factor be a li'l bit of a bitch, but hey, I fuckin' take it for the goddam benefit, right?"

"Get them forms filled...we bringin' props t' th' Consortium again!" And she's out of the room.

"Saving an asse.s.. yeah, good bennie" And she salutes her departing boss
