Looks like a lot of gang members on both sides have been hurt. And a few innocents as well. Suspicion falls on the refugees. How many of THEM are in gangs and just being smuggled across the border under the guise of mercy folks ask?

Jessica does what she can to minimize refugee presence.... although she knows there is a limit.

More over, she must be careful less she attract official attention.

She tries to reminder herself that, as Father V said, there is only one savior of the world, and she is not Him.

The line between honest righteous work and ego can be slippery. Her focus and sense of duty keep her from getting distracted by things like -oh the thought that apparently at least a 3rd of the warring gang can be blown up at any moment by Duff , possibly ending the greater violence. Talk about ethical quandries. Why can't the man just behave?

She deliberately wrenches control of her brain away from Duff and works on solving the issue(s) at hand. And keeps an eye out for Nunehi contact. And looks for a job. And tries to keep an eye on the arms race(s). And figures out who the next batch to go north will be and how to get them there. And patrols. And makes sure Alejandro is progressing. And avoids telenovellas.....

Well by now she has that job trucking fashions to El NOrte. That works well.

Though her truck has been checked out more than once by authorities so smuggling people is harder. The clothes? Not as big a problem.. yet

Sir Buce would risk his life for a mission, but the Fiona warhorse is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

And Necropsis, lord knows how he does it without magic, but he got one girl turning tricks within a week. Father V was livid.

Of course, arguably the girl is eating well and taken care of.. but no... still not okay!

The money Nec makes however, a percentage does go to the hold. And that's been helpful in smuggling folks out. Maybe she could ask Nec for help after all. Next to Duff he knows the connections best.

A sigh, and back to the paperwork and files.

"How goes, Boss?" Sir Jack enjoys his reputation as an urban street knight, just enough of a bad boy to catch the interest of the ladies, and yet he IS dedicated to the Liam cause. To his credit, he doesn't even try to flirt with Jessica and is, in his own way, a gent.

She rubs the base of her horns. "Complicated. This one left home because of violence, like the others, has family there, like the others.... but she's pregnant with her mortal lover's baby and -he- is back home too." A deep sigh sucks the air out of the room.

"If it was simple anyone could do it. You're helping more than most. You have to think of it as one victory, one person, at a time or you'll go nuts"

"I try." She looks up. "How can I help you, Sir?" Respectfully.

"I think we have another kithain ." he says

"Ok. What do you know? Wait... you think?"

"Yeah, I don't think they're a dream dance waiting to happen so much as having forgotten . Permission to enchant and give it a shot?"

"Granted."

"Thanks. If the result is a kithian, another bargaining chip" he shakes his head, "Or at least someone who can go across easier thanks to changeling help. "

"Bargaining chip?"

"C'mon boss, I'm Liam, but even I know that other holds will be happy to have more kithain around.. if nothing else for right of rescue bragging rights, and the only way we're going to move the sons of adam and daughters of eve is by trying to offer a secret kithain surprise in every box of mortals" A sour look, "Sorry, bit cynical of me I know. "

"Might not be un-earned cynicism....."

"oh definitely earned," He says, "But back to fighting the good fight. Anything else before i go see whose under the cover?"

"No. Thank you, Sir Jack." She rubs her horns again.

"Then I'm off" and he's gone, leaving her to her organizing.

And back to work.

And after the paperwork is sorted and a few questions passed on for more/follow up info, she heads out on patrol.
