"Ha. Yeah, trust me. Diego is just one of my family, and at least with a cousin you have some expecation of distance. Siblings? You'll save their lives one moment then ponder killing them for yourself later."

"Diego.... I value everything he's done. Most things. Siblings...." She shrugs. "...I haven't had any. Till now."

"Oh, she's adopted?"

"She's my sister." Stolidly.

"Well yeah, not saying adopted doesn't count. Hell, one of my best friends was adopted into her family and she's aces. " A shrug

"Yeah?" She thinks about it. "Who?"

"You don't know her... Jayna. Me? I'm not nice. I big, I'm mean, and I give few shits ... and have few regrets. Jayna's just sweet and nice, almost makes my cynical ass think nice isn't impossible"

"Siv's an adventurer, pretty care-free." A pause. "I envy that."

"Ah, grasshopper to your ant or whatever..." A nod "Hey, the trial of women is work life balance. This is normally where I'd give some advice or tell you what the fuck I do, but you've probably already heard all that sort of thing so I'll close my satyr yap on that and instead just say I'm pretty sure you'll find your own way. You're a bright driven young woman. You got friends. You'll be good. Your sister has her life, you have yours, yadda yadda" SHe says with a shrug "I'll never be Jayna, but I am not above stealing an idea from her if I like it. Jayna tells me there are things she envies about me." A snort and grin "Ain't that a kick?"

"Is Jayna Fae?"

"Nah.. Kinian" A smile "And not a lot of fae blood at that. "

She nods. "Siv is a troll."

"Ah, if she were Kinain it might be easier then...distance when you want it"

She shrugs. "They're in Apples, I'm here."

"Not the kind of distance I was speaking of but yeah" A grunt

"Well. I'm going to change and go on patrol. I'll get the costume cleaned." She offers. "Thank for the job; it'll help right now -and- later on, with the shipping job coming from it."

"Sure, clean it, drop it off in my locker ..whatever." A nod "I'll keep you posted if he hires again?"

Jess thinks about it, then nods. "Not sure I'll say yes, but... just in case."

"Cool.. " A stretch and the two women part ways. Delfina is not like Nancy at all, Nancy is more typically satyr, but Delfina is a bit of a brute..but not a dumb one. Kind of reminds her of olgar

Her lips quirk at the thought of her 'uncle'.

She changes and heads out on patrol, and if that takes her past the tattoo parlor and her apartment, well.... it needed patrolling anyway.

It does. It's a good thing she's a secure woman, otherwise the number of pretty ladies that come in for tattoos and such might alarm her. The logical side of her might take comfort (Or even delight, or is that the petty side?) in realizing that after being tattooed on the ass few women are going to find themselves thinking of romance for the next hour anyway- tender.

The bell tinkles as she enters.

"Uno momento" He assures and works

Then finishes, and turns, his gaze falls on her, a touch of delight in her eyes. "Jessica, how are you?"

She offers him a shy smile. "Hi. I'm good. Just got back from a gig, and a tip that might lead to an income, so.... that's good."

"Excellent," He says "Let me ring Teena out and we'll talk"

"Mina" the woman says irked, and puts her pants back on, well, mostly.

"Sure." She nods to the customer and finds a magazine in the waiting area.

Mina heads out, slightly miffed and quite litteraly butt hurt, which seems not to faze Duff at all. He joins Jessica, after flipping the sign to closed. He sets his own hours at whim. "So, tell me about the gig and this tip?"

"Delfina got me a gig in San Diego, the convention? Security." in retrospect she seems amused at the idea "Kind of undercover, in costume, keeping an eye on what they called boothbabes and female conventioneers."

"Those ladies do often make it more enjoyable to be among the geeky crowd"

Jessica nods. "Most of the crowd seemed ok. There was an incident, but the cops got him so... Anyway. I met some ladies from this side of the border who do bespoke costumes, but they are having trouble moving their products into the US so I said I could help and... still some things to figure out but it's a start."

"Oh...shit."

"What?"

"Jessica, this job you're taking, if it's the two ladies I'm thinking of? It's legal...quite legal, but it's also dangerous."

She describes the ladies.

"They said the reason they were having trouble was because of a cartel."

"Right, and you think the cartel won't attack you or your vehicle if they can?"

Jessica shrugs. "I have tricks they don't. Besides, I need the work."

"You are fearless," He says with admiration and a bit of concern still, "I know, I know, you can take care of yourself, but may I give sojme advice?"

"Of course."

"Carry some protection, a weapon that affects mortals since that's what you'll face."

"And,..ask the consortium to soup up your transport vehicle. Make sure it's hard to break into... let them throw in a few bells and whistles as long as it doesn't hurt the cargo"

She makes a face.

"Hoo boy."

"At least learn how to use a taser if youn't shoot a man trying to shoot you mmM?"
