The sea monster is lucky to be alive. On some level, while a sea beast, she is aware enough not to FEEL lucky. She feels hate. She feels rage. And she knows that her foe is far beyond her reach. Yes, she and her mate had raided. They'd raided for food, and kithain flesh is rich with glamour. They had killed as all predators do. But she who hunted her mate did not hunt for food. Her mate's corpse was left to rot. The troll came full of passions the Sea monstress does not quite understand.

The sea monster heard her mate's cries through the waves. The troll and her vessel would not let him go, cutting him, trapping him. Of COURSE she went to aid her mate. But she was too slow, and the hunter was too eager. He was dying ...dying DEAD before she could do anything but avenge! And even that was denied her. Now she is alone.

No, not alone. Her mate was a good mate, and she fertile enough. She swims over the collection of eggs , each with a sea monster writhing within. In some clutches, she lets the stronger ones eat their weaker siblings. That's something she understands. But.. no, not this time. ALL the eggs should be allowed to hatch. And she whispers to them, a mother with a most twisted lullaby... in a language primal. Learn little ones of hate, learn little ones of vengeance, and always ALWAYS, seek out and kill the blood of the Huntress Waveborne. Da'an and Dreaming, HER brood will out last that of the Captain that took her mate. If she could swear it, she would. Maybe the Dreaming will hear it as such anyway.
