One more hour to go. CC looks about "Good lord, did you clean EVERYTHING?"

"Yes." complacently "Had to occupy myself -somehow-."

"I love you dear, but sometimes I worry if I fall asleep with my mouth open, you'll brush my teeth while I do"

"Mmm." a wicked twinkle.

"if you are, I don't want to know" She says after considering it

"I wouldn't dream of spoiling the surprise, although I admit putting a toothbrush in your mouth was not my -first- thought." he smirks.

"Better be glad I don't have a strong biting instinct, buddy" she snaps her teeth playfully

"Ah, what's life without an element of risk?" he asks playfully.

Her eyes sparkle "Well given where we are I can't argue with that. You keep checking your watch. All well?"

"Yes, just making sure I can met Phlan on time." he checks again.

Yup. He needs to go

"I must go." he leans over and kisses her "I might be a while. Come with me, and keep the keys."

"Okay" she says after the kiss "Wait, I thought you weren't supposed to bring me to the meeting? "

"Ah... well, it didn't transpire that way. Will you trust me?"

"You always look at me like I'm crazy when I say this about trusting you.." a sly smile "But yes"

A snort, but he smiles. "You are, but I thank you."

"Well then, you're welcome" She smiles

He nods, and gets in the driver's seat. As they make their way to Phlan, he tells her about his suspicions regarding Phlan's motivations; his wife.

"Shit." She observes as they drive.

"What are the odds?"

"There is a dreary regularity to it, Dearest."

"Yes, sorry if this pokes old wounds, love. But if it's what you think it is, Phlan might be far more in sync with us than we could hope. Though... I'd hardly call the man subtle"

"Nor would I. But.... well, I've been wounded before and more than once."

A nod to him "Okay. So how should I play this? Cecily's part? "

"Submissive. Take the keys and go, afraid."

She nodss takes a breath and looks like the soul of skittishness

And a chuckle.

And then they are at Phlan's. He leaves the RV running and kisses her quick, once, before sliding out of the cab.

She is the very soul of timid pining as he goes

He finds himself meeting up with Phlan who stews near damaged building

"Is... are.... well... ready?"

He flashes a note, really quick but not so quick the boggan can't read it 'We'll be spied on soon. Gonna yell at you. Accuse you. Make it look like I blame you unfairly'

Abner nods; he's down.

The nocker seems to count the time, half closing his eyes. Kenning perhaps?
