Abner climbs in behind him and shows him the arranged-for problem "We could continue to limp along but.... I dislike ...." he glances at Cicley "... well, risks...."

"I get worried at the smallest thing" Ciceley says

"Oh I see, yeah, huh, this is a lot of bad luck is what it is..." he tinkers "Did you get hit with a hex? Did you see any gremlins"

A glance again at Ciceley "It... maybe." miserably "We left our last position... under some... a cloud."

"Oh furk... you poor saps"

"I'm sure it was my fault." quietly "But... I'd hoped for a second chance here and from what you've said...."

"Yeah..." The guy gets to work fixing things up

Abner tries to help but....

It's more of a dither.

"No, no, don't touch that.. " A beat "or that"

"Would you like iced tea?" he asks, finally.

"Yeah sure get you out of my ha.. I mean Sure"

The nocker knows his stuff

The boggan is back quickly with a plastic tumbler of lukewarm tea "I'm afraid we don't have ice but...."

"Yeah yeah" He slurps "Look, if you two want a reccomendation of a place to settle just outisde the boundry.. I might know a guy"

Abner gives Cicely a miserable look. "That... would be very kind of you."

"We just want a little place with a lawn maybe? " As if dreaming TOO big

"It's... access." Abner explains "A little place with a lawn and... we need access to Glamour." softly "Or....."

"Oh, furk yeah, " A nod "Well, there is a hold here, but I don't much like the lord. Still haven is haven" A scoff "in theory"

"So you suggested." Abner mumbles "I wouldn't want to put us in a... difficult position."

"Well," He says "Sounds like you're already in one. Look, the hold is located at..." He names the area "So I don't suggest being too close. Not many dreamers here so I can see the problem" He confirms some of what Emerson knew of the place or suspected

Abner rubs his face. "Oh deary deary me...."

"Yeah..." Click clatch "Look, it's not for me to say but..."

There's an alarm sound, and a wooosh outside

"Run. Hide!!" he urges.

"Oh shit, that's from my store!" FuRIOUS!

Abner gets the door open.....

And the nocker almost charges out like a rhino with a firework shoved up it's ass!

William gets into the driver's seat and keys up.

CC whispers "they were scrying on HIM not us, to make sure he was out of his store"
