"Friend eh?" A smile "Abner, you ashamed of me?"

"I didn't want to presume!" He protests lightly.

A soft laugh "Well, we'll play it how you like or you think will sell. In my experience, men with wives or girlfriends are trusted more than bachelors"

"Even a nocker is likely to assume our relationship is more than just friends after a few moments." he reassures her.

"Likely in a blunt comment" A nod

"Mores the pity, true."

"Oh you like the kith" She observes , not negatively "I think its you admire intellect and they prioritize that"

"I don't know that I -like- them." he objects mildly "They serve a purpose."

"mmm just Janet mm?" Playful

He chuckles. "Oh, that was more in line with hero worship. I haven't called on her in ages."

"mmm we could send her a yule card if you like?"

"That might be a lovely gesture, yes. Thank you, Dearest."

"Most welcome.. I have a few ready to go to others already, another on the pile is no trouble to me"

"Oh, I can write it myself." he assures her.

"You do have lovely penmanship" She says wit ha smile

He chuckles "Thank you." He sighs, rubbing his stomach appreciatively "Shall I wash up?"

"Who am I to stop you?" A smile

He chuckles, and first gets her a glass of wine before tending to the plates and cutlery.

"Thank you, dear" she takes the wine

He hums and cleans up, then joins her with a glass of his own.

"As much as this heap needs fixing up.... I find it rather cozy." he observes.

"It's had it's fun, but I think eventually I'd miss the BIG bed" A wink

"Mmm...." he looks her up and down with affection and desire "As would I, I think."
