She takes his hand and gives it a firm shake. "No kidding. That's kinda why I'm here."

"Yeah, let's set down some where and bitch about it together, you want top of the wall, in one of the bungalows or by the lake?" He offers. "Pretty sure that's why long stride here introduced us"

"Perhaps that's my part in this story," Njera says with faux humility

"I'm partial to the top of the wall, as long as we're not falling off it."

"Meet you up there" And clanky clanky go the spider legs as he heads up

Njera smiles "Shall I leave you two alone, Piper?"

"Will your flight spell last me to the top, or is it safer to find a staircase or hopscotch it?"

"It'll last you to the top, but later when you go down you'll want to take that stair case" she nods

"Got it - and thanks for the company!" She kicks off the ground, following after Titus.

And up she goes, to land and find Titus waiting

He's reaching into his backpack which has apparently swallowed the mechanical spider legs, and now is pulling out.. snacks? "You a hot dog? I got a grill in this thing..."

She lands, and starts to say n... "Yeah, why not? Sounds good. Can I help, or just stay out of your way?"

"Sure... let's see.. got beef, pork, tofu and rolled crabmeat.." He's pulling things out

"I didn't know they MADE that many kinds of dogs. I'll take a tofu then."

"Yeah, I'm trying to cut down on red meat.. TRYING being the operative word" He gets the beef one out for himself, soon they're both cooking on a grill "So.. Cunt Jude huh?" A snort "WHat did he get you for?"

"Ravaging." Even in this Haven place she isn't exactly shouting it out loud, and certainly not proud. "Rock concerts, snatch-and-grab type crowd work." "You?"

"Ravaging... but.. one target, over and over again" He grumbles

"Out three years, you said?" She asks quietly. "It's been about 2 for me. ...does it get any easier?"

"Shit.. yeah I guess. You know I grew facial hair my first year out, know why?"

"So you didn't look like the reflection you remembered?" She guesses

"Kind of, so I didn't HAVE to look in the mirror.. for a year I couldn't look in a mirror, so shaving was out. "

"But with time i was able to start looking again... "\

"I shaved my head." She admits. "It came off like a punk statement, but it was also so I didn't have to see the same face I stared at again. I still don't LIKE looking at myself, but it comes across as being too vain, or all natural and not caring about makeup. And I keep my hair short enough that just a brush can deal with it."

She nods, understanding.

Sitting down by the grill, she leans against one of the stones on the wall. "I guess it fades over time, but if it went away entirely, well, we might backslide so gotta make sure that it's something that sticks right?" A touch sarcastic.

"Fucking bat didn't help. Flap flap flap..."

"Mine was a butterfly. It was silent, but the way that it would catch light on it's wings..."

A bit of an eye twitch.

"At the time, I thought, 'just brand an R on my forehead and be done with it, right?' "

"Ha.. no no no.. that's too easy for the guy who fancies himself the Willy Wonka of Wardens"

"He's got to be" Breaking out the finger quotes "Whimsical"

"I'll turn that whimsy sideways and up his..." A bit of a laugh - it's a relief to be able to talk about it to someone who was there.

"Even though we both wish we weren't" He nods

"Amen to that. it's like, it got me out of the situation I was in... but when I got out, I needed rehab from the rehab."

"No shit.. I've hung around the traggo here enough that tough love is supposed to have a safe word." A sigh "Yeah, worse thing is, you can't tell the story and say 'but I did nothing wrong' because I DID . So he gets a pass for the fucking mind show"

"Ditto...." She kicks at a pebble and listens to it rattle down the side of the wall. "Hey, you ever run into any Liams these days? Not ones from his court, just others..."

"Yeah... a few"

He ponders "I admit, I'm jumpy... heck, if it weren't for Teresa I probably would still think they were all out to get me"

"She's a Liam knight...she saved my life once. Kind of sad when someone has to save your life to get you to trust them" Wryly

A frown. Uncomfortable…

“I guess there are certain Liam out there that I’ve met who aren’t… or are less…” a shrug. “Common kith, though.”

“I still don't trust pretty much any Sidhe s’far as I can throw ‘em.”

Piper shows of the muscle on a scrawny arm… not much

"Who can blame you? " Titus grunts

"She's a sidhe..." he admits "By sidhe standards ugly, which is to say she's a runway model"
