Piper asks, "Captain, could you tell us about the treasure your crew saved from your ship? It's none of our business, surely, but if we're to be porting it, it stands to reason that our Captain has the right to know what she carries."

And perhaps it IS their business, a bit... after all, without the rescue from the Narwhal, it would be in the hands of the Merrow now...she thinks.

"That's fair, Piper. It's a protection against the fell.." She says "The elder dark we balor guard against"

"The guardians of the gates." She nods.

"Though, from what I'm more familiar with, Rovers seem to do most of the trod guarding around our part of town." She allows, credit to RV where it's due.

"The Rovers do good work, and they took up the slack where we were in Arcadia" The Captain smiles "What part of town is your part of town?"

Piper offers, before Siv or Jonas can answer, "I grew up just outside of San Fran, Duchy of the Golden Gates, and spent some time in Ardent Harbor." Oh, she manages to say it so smoothly too.

"Ardenrt Harbor? Whew... Old man Jude still locking folsk up what even looks at a mortal wrong?"

She withholds a shudder. "He has his opinions, that he does."

A touch sour, perhaps.

The balor gives her a sympathetic look, that seems sincere

Siv hufs "All healed here? Good. I was promised some beach time with my lovers. " She rises

Piper is at her side.

And Jonas goes wih her

It's clear Siv's mood is well and truly soured by this revelation. She mutters and grunts

Jonas says "Siv... it's not like you had reason to know"

"I have EVERY reason to know" Siv says "Not just family enemity, but the fact I'm supposed to be able to spy. I infiltrate balor holds, Leanhaun palaces. And here for once I'm on the defense and I'm about ready to get matching tattos with the bitch"

Piper frowns, but holds her tongue.

"Perhaps the fact she is not the typical balor is why she threw you off. She isn't TRYING to infilitrate"

"Are ye sure?" Siv says "They seem stupid but they can be devious"

He sighs "You mean do I think she sunk her ship, wounded her crew, all on the off chance you woudl arrive at the same location and get to rescue her?"

"No. No I do not" he says

"Perhaps she's devious, and perhaps she may not be aiming for your same goals... and I say this honestly asking, really, couldn't she be a decent sort, even BEING a Balor?"

"Not bloody likely" Siv snorts "Those trod hogs are half way in the camp of the dark themselves I suspect"

"They are.. brutal in house policy" Jonas says

She chews at her lip a little. "I know, I know. We learned that along with our ABC's in Fairy 101. It just... grates on me, you know, to tar an entire house with the same brush."

"A little too black and white."

"Piper, you havenn't seen the same things I've seen . Balor practicing slavery. Balor breaking out cold iron in street combat. Balor breaking the wills of commoners to turn them into weapons"

Siv says "it's like a plague they are"

"I've heard. I've seen the slave factory they tried to run near Bergen. I saw what they did there... I mean, I saw an iron blade nearly take your own Mom's life wielded by one. It just... still seems wrong. Do they have no free will of their own? No autonomy to even try to choose a better path?"

"Or is the taint of the fomorian blood in their past too much to overcome?"

Despite herself, a hoof taps lightly in the sand. There is a song in that, perhaps. A somber one, perhaps a dirge.

"I fear the latter" Siv says but she frowns

"Maybe she's a decent soul, but she's sworn to an indecent house. She'll have to choose her House if her House asks her to stab me in the back with Cold Iron"

A sigh. "Well, then all we can do is hope it doesn't come down to that."

"You like her" Siv says , sounding annoyed by that fact

"What can I say, I have a soft spot for dashing and bold sea captains." Leaning over to kiss Siv, wherever she might reach.

Siv's grumbling dies down a bit as Piper lifts on her hooves up to kiss her shoulder that was injured but now is fine "Fine. I like her too"

'But I don't trust and I won't risk you by trusting her" She adds "Either of you"

"Isn't that partly our call?" Jonas raises a brow

"Sorry?" Siv says "I can't hear you over all this Fiona love mixing with my troll protective instincts"

"And it rubbed off on me a bit, too. Here, let me show you how..."

She bends down "This feels like a trap" but her sourness is fading

Piper kisses Siv thoroughly. "Now let's go wash off all this bad energy in the water. And I didn't bring a swin suit..."

Siv grins "I did, but i think I left it on the ship. "

that kiss was warm to hot to electric, and it seems o have definitely caught her interest

"Jonas.... care to risk tide going out?"

Jonas starts to strip and keeps walking towards the beach "What's with the slowdown?"

"I still feel itchy even after the healing. Let's do some saltwater therapy, then skin-to-skin therapy, and we'll all feel better off to face the day."

"Last one in is a sluagh's breakfast!"
