AT EARTHRUNES:
Adam takes the time to clean and brush up, and dresses. In black. He gets his phone and goes to where he can get reception. Dials Zane.

The phone picks up "Hey?" Zane's voice

"Hey." It sounds kinda like Adam? It's his phone number.....

A deep sigh. "Zane..... I wish I didn't need to call you like this."

It sounds like of like Zane but less focused "Adam? Oh.. oh yeah. Hey"

"Zane.... I'm sorry. Nab's dead."

"Nab? Wait.. I know her, don't I?" Confusion

"Zane, you ok? What's wrong? Fuck yes, you know Nabuni!"

"Yeah she sounds familiar. Did she got to schol with us? I'm fine dude. Just.. guess I got stoned you know? I don't remember taking a blunt or anything but here I am, miles from home. "

"Fuck." dully "Zane, man, where are you?"

"Listen, I don't think you're high. Something happened, magic or something. Tell me where you are, I'll come help."

"I'm about a mile from the school."

"In Iowa? DeBukes?"

"No no.. Bergen.. old place. DeBukes? Why would I... wait, I was in Iowa earlier. Why would I go to Iowa? HOW would I go to Iowa? Doesn't make sense. I .. I'm gonna hang up. Clear my head. Later"

"ZANE!"

"Listen, man, I'm sending help, Ok!?!?"

"Stay put, if it's safe. Or go to your house if it's not safe there."

And the phone hangs up

Adam puts the phone on speaker and starts texting any numbers he's got for the Lodge people.

"Fuck fuck fuck fuck....."

Vali.... Dagmar..... Sammy..... he pauses a moment Piper..... He alerts them to the situation, asking for Right of Rescue for Zane. He calls the Wayburtons.

The Wayburtons pick up "Professor Cornellius Wayburton here?"

"Professor, it's Adam Thomas. Do you know where Zane is?" Intent and urgent.

"No, not really, we've had a devil of a time here, Adam. It's safe now but for a while we had poisonings and other dangers. Zane went out to check on our dreamers"

"He's forgotten, Professor. I just talked to him. He's about a mile from the school in Bergen."

"He didn't remember the DeBukes and he sure as hell isn't checking on Dreamers. I texted others there in Bergen but he needs help and I can't get there as fast as I'd like."

"he.. wha? Thank you, Adam" he recovers "I'll find him and help him now. You've been a good friend to him. Be well . I have to find him"

"Tell him to call me!" Adam insists, and hangs up to let the Professor do his thing.

He calls Zane back.

No answer

then it goes to voice mail 'Hey, you've reached the phone of ZANE.. aka Z Wizard. You know the ritual, leave your name, number and message if you need to' BEEP

"Zane! Pick up the damn phone. Call me back!" Adam hangs up and grabs his gear; weapons, cloak, any armor he has. He pauses, turning back to the room to ask a question.... stops.

He bows his head a moment, holds back a sudden well of tears.....swallows. He leaves, seeking Sir Bachdion.

Sir Bachdion is not hard to find, he looks a little baggy eyed "Adam, you made it for Imbolc? It's just ready to start. Musicians, craftsmen."

"No, Sir. I need you to send me to Bergen, please." indeed, he's kitted out for a journey.

"Zane's forgotten. I've told the people at Rivervale but....."

"Say no more." he reaches innto his pocket and charges something up "Here, hand him this coin if you meet him, should revive him. Got your gear?"

Adam nods, and shows him.

"Ready, Sir."

"The young Lion hunts they young lord seeks. His friend amid the gray. Go young prince, find your friend, Hurrhy now today" And there's a FLICKER Flash and...

He arrives near the school. Nice! Bachdion did his homework!

Adam looks around, on guard against whatever it was that got Zane. His breath plumes in the cold, snowy air. Zane, where are ya man? He tries calling his friend's phone.

Same damn voice message

"Fuck." He sets out to find his friend.

It takes Adam a bit.

Finally he sees Zane shivering outside a closed store

The satyr doesn't look like a satyr, just a slim curley headed guy

"Hey......" Adam jogs up. "Zane."
