"If he disobeys you, Fae or mortal, there should be consequences."

"Coradel... -does- Adam trust Bachdion?"

A blink. "Why wouldn't anybody trust Bachdion?" An honest question. "He's an expert in Fiona lore and practice, and a brilliant teacher!"

A gentle smile. "I know. However, I had trouble trusting him for a time."

A little bemused look. "You were jealous."

"I was."

"Not the same situation," she points out.

August stares off a moment, thinking.... then looks at Coradel. "Bachdion is mentoring Brenda Thomas, isn't he?"

"I imagine so. I...ahhh. You mean that Adam is having issues with his mother living a normal satyr life? Well, that's just something he's going to have to get over, isn't it."

He drums his fingers lightly. "I'm... I don't know. I've, ah, seen his bonded chimera. From a distance. And I have the impression he is, ah.... open to friendships."

"Oh, I certainly get the impression he has no difficulties with the idea of such relations for himself. I'm pretty sure that you're the only reason he hasn't tried to add me to his list of lovers." Not said with derision, merely observation. "But you're the one drawing the line between his mistrust of Bachdion and his mother's education."

A head tilt. "How do you mean? The line between his mistrust of Bachdion and his mother's education?"

She gives him a look. "You mentioned he might not trust Bachdion. I said I didn't see why. We talked about how you were jealous of Bachdion. You pointed out Bachdion is mentoring his mother. I assumed you were suggesting he's jealous about that, about her and Bachdion."

"Ah! Yes, sorry. If I had to guess, and it would only be a blind guess, the -education- is not as much a cause for jealous as the form the education might take. However, I have no idea if any of that is an issue for anyone involved."

"Regardless of the truth of the matter, however.... you asked why anyone -wouldn't- trust Bachdion."

A look. "Satyrs gonna satyr, August."

Then a sigh. "It's a fair point, but as I said...his mother is a satyr now, and he's going to have to come to terms with that. If it comes down to a matter of a mortal's welfare or a fae's welfare, I'm siding with the fae."

A soft smile. "Which one?"

"He isn't fae yet, August."

"But is he mortal?"

"Then we need an expert in unwoken fae who can prioritize him. But that is not me."

"Nor I." he sighs.

"No, but you do have more experience with mortals. Still...yes, his resistance to your House gets in the way."

"I would think he and Magnus would have quite a bit in common."

"August...honestly...what would have happened to you at Alabaster Hollow if you had simply decided that you didn't like the mentor you'd been given and decided to make everybody's life miserable? Would they have kept trying to find you mentors who were a better fit?"

"No. Mind you, I didn't care for the man. But if I had acted out, I would have been punished, and eventually, sent away."

"And this is my point."

"And I agreed; if he disobeys you there must be consequences."

"I just so rarely have to punish any of the people in my hold. I dislike the idea."

He takes her hand. "It is not in your nature."

He gives her hand a squeeze and stands to take dishes to the sink. Then he makes a few notes on the pad of paper near the fridge before washing up.

"Oh, I'll punish those who deserve it outside of my hold, and happily. But the people inside my hold should not be the people who deserve it. I usually choose better than that." A sense of irritation that this one problem person got through, and she helps him with washing up.

"I will look into these matters." He taps the fridge pad "And if I may suggest, see if your words are being heeded."

"I will. I dislike the notion that I might get a disappointing report, but I will inquire."

And after they wash up, the two settle in for a movie...."Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" seems to be the choice tonight, as holiday fare...and later...well, that's later.
