The letter is from Baron Doiléir Rathmist ap Eiluned . Requesting a commision from Earl.

Earl stares at it.

"If I don't tell her about it, she's going to be miffed"

":on the other hand, he seems to stress her out" Pace

"Maybe it's just an honest commission" he says to himself.

"oh wait, Eiluned" A snort

Pacing pacing

1122 scuttles up. The spy!

Maybe she heard him pacing?

"1122, seriously? Thought we were bros"

A spidery shrug.

"Yeah yeah, you know which side your bread is buttered on. Fine. " He shows the letter to 1122 "here. Solves my quandry anyway"

Yes it had the baron's name and sigil on it.

He notices Bronte , who looks at him "Finders keepers?"

"Yes yees, you get to keep the hush book I brought home even though 1122 squeeled"

Zara emerges a bit later. "A commission?"

"Yeah, but it has to be NOW? That's... odd. Isn't it?"

"Mmm.."

"He is planning aught. May I see the note?"

He hands it over.

Zara kenns the note, testing for wards or other magic.

It is a chimerical letter, but no other cantrips seem present

Good. Time to omen!

The omen shows a scroll of paper wrapped tight. And when that opened, another sroll, this one of gold.

Something of great value in the message within the message!

She strains to read it.

There appear to be no physical clues. The magical? Mmm to go is to learn something worthwhile, but it may also be a debt?

"Hmph."

"He's got a gift for giving little doesn't he?"

Frustrated huff.

"Want me to say no?"

"No. You should do it."

He nods "I'll get my gear. Anything you want me to do while I'm there?"

"Watch, listen. Wear the spider as a brooch."

A smile, "Fashionable. You up for it 1122?"

The little copper spider scuttles up Earl's leg.

"Thanks." he says and nods "We'll see what we learn. " A pause "he's got to realize I'm going to tell you everything right?"

"Of course."

"Well, let's see what he wants. " A mutter "I ought to paint him as a spider or something... trying to snare folks." A pause "Sorry, 1122, I know i shouldn't sterotype"

Indignant tapping!

"yes yes.. I know... it's like iowan jokes and it's nice. I'll make it up to you with popcorn after this."

And he gives Zara a kiss on the cheek, "I'll be back as soon as I can."

A kiss back. "I shall be watching thee."

He smiles at that and heads out

Zara prepares materials she might need... so she might observe....

Earl is painting, the money offered is good, and Zara has told him how to make sure it isn't used against him. He feels silly, as the Baron is hardly holding still but rather still seeting to parties, events and all.

While scrying on the Baron is hard - Earl and 1122 are familiar, easy targets. It is a simple matter of broadening the lens...
